If you know how authentic indian food tastes like, then you'd know this place is not the one. it's very expensive in comparison to the portion you get. And the taste?? geeez...this is the worst indian restaurant i've ever tried. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
- Pros: may be the atmosphere
- Cons: price, taste, service
Great place for a date

I recently took a first date there and she was highly impressed with the food and the atmosphere. But I think the best part was that she had never had indian food before and the waiter spent time with her explaining what everything was and how it was prepared.
She loved the food and the atmosphere and said she wanted to go there with me again on the next date!
Highly recommended for a date!
- Pros: Great Service!
- Cons: Sliightly higher price - But worth every penny!
Great Food & Service - Loved it!

We loved this place when we visited, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the food was to die for! We sat the special seating and dined until late, it seems like this is the new place for dinner with my husband. I got him to relax and cuddle during dinner.
I would highly recomment it!

- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Cherry creek parking -

We walked over to get take-out (i live very close) and chose Bombay because I just couldn't bring myself to get treated terribly at Cherry Creek Grille again, but that's another story. While the girl who helped us was very nice and informative when we had questions about the menu, the food took sooo looong to come out. We ended up getting drinks and waiting outside on the patio. It was an off time, and we were literally the only people there, so pretty inexcusable. The hostess, the girl who helped us, redeemed the situation by serving us some dips with that really light crispy unleavened bread (I don't know what it's called) common to Indian restaurants. Finally, the food came all packaged up and ready to go, and so did the check. For two people to get takeout and each have one drink it was over $60. Seemed very expensive, especially after getting home. When we got home to eat it, the veggie samosas were neither crispy nor delicious, they had very little flavor, a soggy sad sort of texture, and couldn't possibly stand up to the tamarind or mint sauces they came with. The chicken curry - korma (the most popular dish, i think, in the West) unleashed the right amount of heat, but really had no depth. The rice played a part as well, it was pretty much Uncle Ben's, which is fine if I'm at home and need rice quick, but not when its such a HUGE component to a dish. I was not wowed for the price I paid, and unless I can't drive to India's Pearl (an awesome new restaurant), I won't go back.
- Pros: attentive service
- Cons: time, food
Horrible Delivery Service

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for some quality Indian food. I ordered a chef's special chicken dish with a side order of Garlic Nan. With delivery service, the total came to a whooping $30 but I was craving it so I went ahead anyway. First thing I saw that was wrong was the portion was tiny when I received the delivery. I then opened up the Nan and found that it was not only extremely small, it was also burnt on most pieces. Their was hardly any chicken in my dish and there wasn't even any red peppers in the mix. The rice wasn't up to par either. Disappointing and a waste of money.
- Pros: Fast Delivery
- Cons: EXPENSIVE, Tiny Portions, Burnt Food

Moving to Denver from Colorado Springs, we really had a tough situation on our hands when we needed to find a new Indian restaurant to visit. We are whole-hearted fans of Mirch Masala off of Academy Boulevard (if you're down there, say hello to Tikka! He is a wonderful guy and will take great care of you!). I have found that Bombay has been a close second to the service and food quality we see at Mirch Masala.
I'm not that comfortable in the little hut-like seating with the cushions (I can never quite get close enough to the table...I'm always spilling food that way!) so I stick with the regular tables.
We always get veggie samosas and Chicken Tikka Masala...always great! During the summer they had classical guitar players sitting in the niche in the dining room, and also sitar players. The patio seating is wonderful when the weather is nice.
Parking is a pain sometimes, but such is Cherry Creek. I would recommend parking at the back of the restaurant (at least it is free if you can get a spot!!). I also never have had to wait for a table here, even for dinner on Friday night! They take reservations, however, so best to play it safe in case it is a busy night.
If you want some solid Indian food and good service, check out Bombay Clay Oven.
- Pros: Consistent quality of food, good service!
- Cons: Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get your food, but it is worth it.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Bombay clay Oven, it was a Friday night, they were busy, and we had to wait a bit for a table as we didn't had any reservations, but the wait at the bar was very pleasent. The meal was superb!!! i had chicken bombay which was just perfect. More importantly, the staff was very kind and efficient. I am very glad that i choose this restaurant for my celebration. Can't wait to go back.

Worst Service I've Ever Received

Bombay Clay Oven was highly recommended as a great place to get authentic, tasty Indian food. Their prices are somewhat high, but the ambiance is great and the food really is very good. However... I have never been treated so poorly as we were treated when we ate there.
First of all, the waiter wouldn't give us any suggestions. When we asked if he recommended one dish over another, he just shrugged, rolled his eyes and said "everyone's tastes are different." True, but not what you expect from a waiter!
After we ordered, we sat back and relaxed, enjoying the atmosphere and waiting for our food. We waited....and waited....and waited.... it took an hour and twenty minutes to get our food. Other diners came, sat down, ordered and got their food while we sat and watched. The waiter studiously ignored us until a member of my party actually grabbed his sleeve - he ignored all attempts at eye contact, saying "excuse me," etc. Once we asked where our food was, it magically appeared within moments.
The food was good, but again we were ignored by the waiter until he brought the bill. We were planning to get dessert, but he didn't even ask. The restaurant was not busy and there were several waiters - each one only had two or three tables. We were so shocked at the treatment that we complained to a manager - something I never do! That only made matters worse, because the manager said, basically, that some nights take longer than others.
I understand busy nights and I understand delays - I've worked as a waitress and I know it can be hectic and stressful. But we would have appreciated it if the waiter had come by to let us know he hadn't forgotten about us!
A restaurant that thinks an hour and twenty minutes is acceptable to wait for food is not a restaurant I will frequent. Which is unfortunate, because the food was good, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Pros: good food, fun ambiance
- Cons: horrible service, rude waiters, rude managers, long wait time
The Best!

I love this restaurant! My boyfriend and I eat at Bombay Clay Oven at least once a week. Every time we go it, we receive a worm and sincere greeting from the owner. The food is fresh and delicious! The Samosas are always cooked properly and are never too doughy like in a lot of Indian Restaurants. On Friday evenings, they have a wonderful Sitar player for entertainment. This restaurant is a neighborhood gem!
- Pros: Good Location, Great Service, Delicious Food
- Cons: None
