For get about it...

by foodforthought09

Went on a recommendation that it was decent Italian food for a reasonable price - Well that could not have been any further from the truth. Being a new transplant from the east coast I should know better; but really it does not take much to make decent Italian food, seriously... Just do not bother with Cherry Tomato, it is not American Italian or any region of Italian cooking. Just stay home and chop some tomato's with garlic add olive oil and put it over some pasta and you have already surpassed Cherry Tomato.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: the food

Can't say much good....

by yanew

Veggie lasagna was mostly bread crumbs and salt. Could hardly find the veggies. Salt was dominant flavor. Staff clueless; service poor to arrogant. Can't get rid of that salt taste!!!!

consistent quality

by dartydave

We have been going here for years. We have always had excellent food. One of the most consistent restaurants I have ever eaten at. The house favorites like lasagna, pasta felice & the veal dishes never fail to please. Its a cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I do not get these comments about too much garlic. These folks must like really plain food. I think the prices are very fair. $11 for a pasta dish $20 for veal or fish. And now they have delivery, its great after a long day at work when you just want to sit in front of the TV and have a gourmet meal brought to you. The food comes hot and tastes the same as in the restaurant.

  • Pros: consitent high quality
  • Cons: no reservations, although we usually don't wait long for 2

poor service

by liveinarea

Live around the corner, called ahead to get on the list like we always do, usually no problem. We arrive in the 5 minutes we said we would, unfortunately behind another couple. They told the couple ahead of us it would be 10 minutes, they told me and my wife it would be 25 - 30 minutes even though I explained we were ahead of them, and I was looking at a couple empty 2 tops. All the hostess could muster was, "I'm sorry, a bunch of people came in." That was the WRONG answer. We did not stay. We went to the Walnut Room for some great pizza and beer.

Our experience prior to this was only so-so. Waiter forgetting stuff, namely the food. It's going downhill fast. We only go here because it's literally around the corner. Sad, sad, sad.

Beware when you get your credit card statement

by piruleto2

The food is mediocre, the service slow, and on top of that they added $3 extra dollars on my Visa receipt. I had to dispute the card in order to get my money back. Check your credit card statement before you pay your bills, who knows how many times they have done that before.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: They better be more honest

What a cute location!

by Angelina7

While recently vacationing in Denver form NY, I passed by this cute little corner restaurant on the way to the zoo. I decided to stop in with my 2 children for dinner ( after we visited the playground kitty corner from it! How convienent!) I am glad to say we were not disappointed. So cute inside and the kids love it. Plenty of crayons to keep them busy! I ordered the house Pasta Felese which was out of this world! Our waiter was so friendly with the kids and they loved the spaghetti and meatballs! I coming back, with my neighbors kids!

  • Pros: Great Atmosphere, kid friendly, even the owner said hello to us!
  • Cons: Tough to park, but worth it!!!

Our experience at the Cherry Tomato has been terrific both times we have eaten there. We are always looking for Italian restaurants with great food and service. This is it.! The food is always hot and very tatsty. The service is wonderful. We lived in Italy and we can say this is real Italian food. We will continue to go back especially for the great salmon and spinch. WE highly recommend this fun little restaurant.

Friendly neighborhood restaurant. They welcome kids. Wonderful food and service. Great ambiance.

by Tkatlady1200

My husband and I have taken friends and out of town family there to dine often, and they always want to go back. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable about wines. The marinara sauce is tops. The chef does wonders with fish. Pasta Felese is to drool over. Chicken Picatta is the best I've ever eaten. I've never experienced bad service. I even had the pleasure of witnessing a young man proposing to his sweetheart one night. Everyone cheered when she said "Yes." You feel like part of a large, loving family when you dine there. And, the food is delicious.
