by snewt

Best green beans on the planet!!!! Everything I've tried here is delicious. Great sweet tea! If you're in the mood for some southern, home cooked food this should be your only stop in the D.

  • Pros: Awesome food and friendly folks for a great price!
  • Cons: The hours. They're only open M-F 11a.m. - till the food is gone...... or 2 pm.

Best Vaule, Best Food, Reminds me of Home

by dedhead007

WOW is a good way to start this review. The ever changing menu keeps things fresh and you just cant get food like this many places here. It reminds me of home, which is Georgia. If you have never been, you should check it out. Just make sure and get there before closing.

  • Pros: Just the best comfort in TOWN!

nice staff

by tom0555

tom's home-cooking is a place where you go to eat the food that we don't have the time to prepare.( they start working at 5 AM) their BBQ ribs are the best. the offer healthy alternatives too. "Tom's iced tea" rivals the best. Come in early to get a seat and enjoy the succulent foods. the staff will bend-over-backwards to make you enjoy your dinning experience.

Experience the YUMMY DELICIOUSNESS!

by mandyindenver

My coworkers and I went to Tom's today. We got there at exactly 11am. There was no line, and only one person in the restaraunt. Most plates are $8.75, and include a drink. Catfish is a little extra. The menu changes everyday, but today, I had the chicken fried steak with yams and greens. One coworker had the fried chicken, brocoli cheese casserole, and greens, and the other had chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese, and cabbage. ALL of the food was fresh, hot, and most delicious. The sitting area is not very large, so if you're going with more than 2 people, get there when they OPEN!

  • Pros: food is great.. good portions for under $9/plate
  • Cons: If you don't get there at exactly 11am, you WILL be standing in line. CASH ONLY.

Better off going to a Boston Market.

by strapshoechris

Blandest food I've been served anywhere in the Denver area. Styrofoam clamshells (even for eating in!) make the dining experience even less appetising. If you liked your grade school cafeteria food, you'll love this place. Atmosphere is clean and nice for the area, but with all the soul kitchens in this neighbourhood, tastier food is not far away.

  • Pros: comfortable atmosphere
  • Cons: uncomfortable food.

Rejoice, lovers of Southern-style cooking. This place has what you need.

by Contributor

In Short
The place is too small to hold the crowds that pack it, lining up out the door on some days. Luckily, it's mostly takeout, with about 10 tables for eating in. Customers order at the counter and the meal is served in a to-go container almost instantly. The menu changes daily and may include thick slabs of meat loaf, barbecue ribs, beef tips over rice or juicy fried chicken; deep-fried catfish is available every day.
