Excellent, authentic and unique
by writeon1
This is the Denver outpost of the original Andre's in Kansas City. The family has managed to keep it within a few cousins and there are three locations. The KC location is actually much larger and offers more than two selections for lunch per day, but aside from that, it's nice to see the principles being upheld in Denver. The prix-fixe lunch is always a treat, particularly because it includes the tempting dessert tray. Older people tend to flock here and are treated well by the staff. I particularly like it in the winter, when it feels cozy to be inside with a hearty meal, watching the snow coming down...There is also a bakery counter where one can indulge in all kinds of goodies to take home! I do wish that they would emulate the KC location and offer at least one vegetarian menu item per day.
- Pros: Authentic European fare, swift service
- Cons: No alcohol, tend to not have vegetarian selection
Great dessert!

This is a great weekend lunch spot! Lunch includes a drink like coffee or tea or soft drink, a main entree (choice of two), and your pick from the dessert tray. The food portions are not huge but quite filling, and the fare is swiss. The cheese quiche and beet salad were amazing. The line to sit down seemed long but moved very quickly. Rum cake was excellent as well. Plus this place has a general "store" section with a great selection of Swiss chocolate like Lindt. There is a parking lot also, which is convenient. Highly recommend!
- Pros: Dessert, food, parking
- Cons: Service was a bit slow and didn't explain the various food offerings in detail at all
Forget your diet!

Andre's pastries are out-of-this-world! I love their almond pastry, but so far haven't tried anything that isn't amazing. And for the high quality, the prices are quite reasonable. This is definitely THE place to ditch your diet!
- Pros: Their pastries are perfection!
- Cons: Not exactly health food
Swiss fare and smooth chocolate tucked away in a space south of Cherry Creek's busy shopping district.

In Short
At lunch, a line fills the corridor between the bakery and dining room. Meals are limited to two options daily--traditional Swiss fare such as tender veal bratwurst with buttery noodles or flaky-crusted pies with spinach or chicken. Desserts are included with the price: chocolate-layered tortes with mousse and raspberry, tiny fruit tarts and creamy napoleons. Chocolates imported from the Kansas City location have a case to themselves, including heady milk chocolates and rich truffles.
This is a treat!!!

It may look crowded when you first walk in, but the wait line goes fast and shows you just how popular this little place is. Serving two menu items makes choices easy, especially when everything is so tasty. The dessert tray is my favorite part of the meal. Since I'm a Kansas City transplant, where the original Andre's opened in 1955, I was so very happy to see Andre's in Denver!!!
- Pros: excellent food, wait staff great, Good $ value
- Cons: crowded seating
You will never be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one thing to say, this is the best bakery in entire state. If you anywhere close, or even if you have to drive, give it a try.
- Pros: desserts, coffee, everything they make

Yummy desserts and scrumptious lunches. What more can you ask for? I love their Chicken Patties and the Pistachio Cake.
