cool stuff, snotty people

by daisymai at Citysearch

I've been going to Decade since it opened and loved it...but little by little the staff has developed an attitude that does not make me want to shop there. If you're holding a Chanel bag or pull up in a Jaguar, they might give you the time of day. But if, like me, you show up on a Saturday in a baseball hat looking for a nice card and a gift, forget about a greeting or a smile. I had three different people who worked there walk by me and not say a word. I watched those same people greet other folks as they came in, engage them, ask them if they needed help. Guess I should have brought my oversized sunglasses and starved myself so I could fit in. Too bad Decade has turned into a cherry creek wanna be. Perhaps they should move there--but then they'd have to compete with Artisan Center, which has the friendliest staff in Denver. I won't be heading back to Decade any time soon.

Wishing for more...

by connerb999 at Citysearch

I have been going to Decade since they opened but and I wish they would go back to their roots. I used to find the coolest vintage clothes there but now everything is new. The maternity section takes up too much space. Please bring back the cool vintage clothes!!

Good Boutique/Bad Attitude

by MamaChigs at Citysearch

I love this boutique! They manage pull together a unique variety of apparel from brands such as Free People & Velvet, accessories that you won't find elsewhere and super cute housewares & gifts. I would say this store is like an Indie-Anthropologie. You can always find a special gift for a girlfriend (or for yourself) in this store. I never leave empty handed!

My only complaint is the staff. They are not at all friendly and not at all helpful. Everytime I go into Decade, I never leave empty handed... but I just have to think how much more business they would do if their staff was actually on top of things. I've rarely ever been asked if I need help or if I have any questions. I feel like they view customers as if they're doing them a favor by letting them shop in their store. I say fire the staff and start over! Or if the owners are part of the staff... maybe bring someone in that has actual customer service experience to teach sales techniques and just common courteousey. I bet your sales will double! So other than the sucky, snotball staff, it's a great boutique!

  • Pros: Wonderful selection of unique apparel, gifts, accessories
  • Cons: Staff is less than helpful

Cute Baker boutique

by hypechic34 at Citysearch

Hugs Decade from the back and says, ?I wish I could quit you, Decade.? (Brokeback reference for y?all, even though this store has nothing to do with closeted cowboys. Not that there?s anything wrong with that). I just wanted to express my love for this store.

If you?re an obsessive window shopper or browser like me, LEAVE YOUR WALLET AT HOME. There is so much that I want to buy here to fill up my nearly empty apartment. Sigh. I promise you, owners of Decade, that one day I?ll stop browsing your store for the hell of it, and I?ll buy something soon. After I pay the bills. And eat.

But I digress.

This shop is located in one of my favorite Denver neighborhoods, and it is one of my favorite CO boutiques. I?m surprised it took me so long to review it. The store itself is pretty big, and jampacked with all types of girly necessities.

Flowery toiletries, one-of-a-kind jewelry and hair accessories, cards, candles, etc. The clothing is cute, worth taking a gander at. It?s pricey, but quality made, and unique.

Decade also has a small selection of vintage-type furniture. I?m jealous of the people who walk out of the store with that merchandise, because it?s cute!

The back of the store is dedicated to those of us (not me) with child. I venture away from that side of the store, but from the looks of it, there?s some interesting items for the pregnant gals. Another section is for the risque girls who want to show their man something nice or just feel good lounging at home in some cute lingerie.

Good service, good merchandise, and a good cat.

Yep, I said cat. There?s a store cat that wanders around the store while you?re looking. Don?t worry, he or she doesn?t crawl over everything (this is a plus for me since I have TERRIBLE allergies).

I wish I could quit you, Decade.

One of my favorites...best in Denver!!

by beaubeaubear at Citysearch

I have never posted any type of comment and probably never will again. Jumped online to check hours for one of my favs - Decade - and saw the earlier review... I just must respond....

Have been exploring the Broadway/ South Broadway strip for many years. Decade has always been and continues to be one of the most enjoyable, afforadable and unique shopping experiences. Better than any mall - for so many reasons - including service, variety, gifts, location.

I drive pretty much the opposite of a fancy Jag, sometimes show-up in sweats and baseball cap, and have always found exactly what I need - with the help of great staff!!

The vintage boutique for hipsters who love the past but live for today.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
This South Broadway boutique specializes in "timeless accessories for life." The boutique offers a variety of home decor items--think affordable antiques, offbeat accessories, rhinestone jewelry and scented candles--but the clothes are the big draw. Women will find faded pairs of used Levi's, T-shirts, dresses and tops in everything from flowery fabrics to Pucci-inspired prints.

Great Girlfriend Finds and More

by aeon at Citysearch

I've been a Decade shopper for about four years now and have furnished my house with some great finds, including an antique brass chandelier with all the crystal in tact for only $10 when they closed down their second store. Finding a bargain there is part of the excitement, plus the everyday goods are always quality and unique! With my group of artistic and trendy girlfriends, it is about the only place I can go and know I will find the perfect gift. The owners are great but the sales staff can sometimes be a bit little cool to almost unfriendly to nonregulars, so be aware. Overall, however, this is one of the best boutiques in town and I think Denver is all the better for having it!

  • Pros: Great Selection, Eye for Merchandising

Decade fiend

by loungegrl at Citysearch

I've been frequenting Decade for the past 3 years and am still a loyal patron. Decade is a great shop to find cool knick-knacks and doo-da's. Candles, pillows, lamps, rugs, clocks and much more. And that 's not all - at the back of the store you'll find really hip new and used clothing. For those of you who favor furniture from the past to the boring styles they press out of factories nowadays, Decade is also for you.

Unfornately I do have to agree that their prices have gone up a bit over the years, but isn't that a natural effect of an unstable economy? Despite it's small rise in pricing, Decade still offers reasonably priced momentos of the past and present. Make Decade a part of your Saturday Broadway stroll.

  • Pros: Friendly staff, Great merchandise, Fun atmosphere
  • Cons: Bad parking
