Very Cool Atmosphere
by victor1460
This is a great place to listen to live music, have a few drinks and sample off the new menu from the new Chef/Owner (who also happens to be a form of entertainment himself!). Both patios are great - the back patio is very intimate, and the inside is very unconventional with multi-levels and different rooms. Has a good feel - a good "soul".
Best place to hang with friends listen to good music and toss back a few

It has such a lax atmosphere, and a friendly one. the eclectic interior is enhanced by the feeling of being in an old house in the neighborhood. plus the drinks are well mixed and the staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Our Favorite Bar

Most of the reviews on here are for Cafe Cero's qualities as a restaurant, aptly, but I have only been in the late evening to enjoy it as a bar/lounge with my friends. The drinks are inexpensive and they aren't watered down (usually it's one or the other in Denver bars). The staff is so nice and friendly. It's usually not very crowded, so we can get a whole room to ourselves. I love this place!
- Pros: inexpensive, nicely decorated, good location (for me, anyway), great staff
- Cons: very loud on nights with musical guests
Romantic encounters, relaxation and Italian food draw diverse crowds to this casually sophisticated nightclub.

In Short
Tucked in an off-the-street section of South Broadway, Cafe Cero's nooks, crannies and patios supports small groups, romantic meals and loud parties. Paladio's, the popular in-house Italian restaurant, serves up giant plates of food. Appetizers of note, and big enough to share, include crunchy calamari with garlic butter, spicy sausage and peppers, portobellos topped with tomatoes, basil and balsamic vinegar, or a generous antipasto platter filled with meats, cheeses and crisp vegetables.

UPDATE: NO MORE ITALIAN FOOD. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PLACE, I'LL NEVER GO BACK. My old review is below:
great food, reasonable prices, good service, cute decor. It even has an adorable outdoor patio in the back, and a nice bar with cigars and pool table to enjoy before or after your meal.
If I lived closer, I'd be here every week. The menu has something for everyone (from great salads to the best carbonara I've had since Chicago and amazing desserts). I highly recommend this place.
- Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere
- Cons: South Broadway

Fantastic little spot hidden away on Broadway - make your way down support this small local restaurant. This place is awesome.

i can't speak to the outdoor dining since it's January, but i LOVED Cafe Cero and would absolutely go there again. i was hesitant after reading some of the other reviews, but tried it anyway on a friend's insistence. the food was phenomenal - it's not traditional Italian, but more of a neo fusion, which might be where people got confused, but it's great. try the gnocchis in spicy maple, the duck and brie wontons, the mac and cheese with truffle oil, and if they have the seafood ravioli special, try that too. it's fantastic! only downside is that it's on Broadway, so parking can be a pain. and it's one of the best spaces in Denver.
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Service
Mediocre at best...

I read the reviews and headed over to Cafe Cero with some trepidation. The atmosphere is great, and the service was above average, but the food was uninspired. Ordered some appetizers ($5 ea or 3 for $15 - ooh, what a deal. Who are they trying to kid?) that were decent but not what I had hoped for (the old reviews of the place really were good). The first three wines I asked about they were out of. Had a caprese salad and the tomatoes were mealy. If they're not good, don't serve them! The mac & cheese was delicious, but for $9, I'd expect a bit more of it. I was hoping for another fun place to go in my 'hood, but it's not to be. I might go back for drinks sometime, but not for dinner.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Service
- Cons: , Overpriced
Unhappy Diner
by murrayellen
We ate at Cero three months ago and loved the food. We returned recently with some friends and were very disappointed in our meals. Apparently, the new chef has left much to be desired. We ordered a tortellini dish that tasted like it was microwaved and our appetizer described as a beef tenderloin dish was 4 slices of meat so finely sliced that it was almost transparent. While the service and atmosphere was very pleasant, the lack of good dishes will keep us from returning to this restaurant.
