Worst Service and Quality. Every time I'm there (and I don't know why I keep going back) I have bland food, poor service, and expensive tabs for very little to eat. I am finally putting my foot down and never going back. I just don't understand why it touts so many accolades on the front of their menu, then delivers so poorly. WORST Mexican Food in Denver. We went to this highly acclaimed restaurant anticipating a great dining experience based on reviews. When we arrived there were not too many customers, yet they only had a few tables available because they couldn't be bothered to clean the dirty tables. Once seated, it took a long time to get our chips and salsa. We were disappointed that the chips were bland and the salsa was watery and without flavor. The pico de gallo had definitely been sitting out a long time, and tasted stale. This did not bode well for the rest of our meal. Our food arrived and was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Not sure I can even call it a meal since I only ate a few bites. I had the flautas, which were tough and flavorless, with watery green chile and what looked like Velveeta semi melted over the top. The rice was stale and I couldn't even bring myself to try the refried beans. My companion had the Best of Denver plate, and it was equally bad if not worse. Best in Denver!. Moving from Phoenix I thought I would have trouble finding good Mexican food in Denver that could compare to the cuisine down there - No such problem! Rosa Linda's came highly reccomended from a former resident of Denver and once I tried it I was hooked! The food is simply amazing! And the people are so friendly and personable. They remember their regulars and are so accomodating! I have shown up at 8:50 before (when they were to close at 9) and they told me to come on in! They still treated me with the same friendly service even as they were to be closing.

I could not be happier with this find. The food is fresh, authentic, and wonderful. The best "authentic" Mexican food I have tried since I moved here (and that has been a lot!) The menu is quite extensive with some very familiar items, to some specialties. The prices are also extremely reasonable. poor service. just went in for lunch and as a repeat customer for this establishment, I was not impressed. Service was very poor and the food was not up to snuff. While normally a delicious eatery, they seem to struggle with consistency. They were out of several items and overall very disappointing trip to Rosa's. Authentic Experience. My husband and I are from a border town in Arizona and travel to mexico frequently. Rosa Linda Mexican Cafe has the most authentic Mexican food we have eaten since moving to Denver three years ago. We were told about this gem by friends and have been back several times in the past few weeks. Each time we were greeted with a smile and served warm tortilla chips with a fresh, piquant salsa. We ordered the guacamole and were impressed with its homemade consistency and taste. We tried the queso fundido with chorizo (which is made in-house) accompanied by warm tortillas. Delicious! My husband has had the Best of Denver plate every time ...he can't get enough of the chile rellenos! I have sampled the cheese enchiladas, the shredded beef enchiladas and the tacos al carbon. I would recommend all three dishes...they were perfectly prepared. After drinking a couple of their excellent top shelf margaritas, we WERE in Mexico! calling this place overrated would be a compliment. It?s difficult to write this without sounding like I?m exaggerating. But when I say that this is the worst dining experience I?ve ever had, it?s the God?s honest truth. I went to Rosa Linda?s looking for homemade-tasting, stick-to-your-ribs, authentic Mexican food. Piquant green chile, velvety tortillas, fall-apart tender meats, and fresh veggies are, to me, the hallmarks of solid Mexican food. It doesn?t need to be fancy, it just needs to be genuine. But what I found at Rosa Linda?s was just genuinely bad. The tortilla chips, whose flavor we got to know quite well because the service was so slow, had random dark-colored chip fragments throughout. After one bite, I realized that these chip fragments were over-fried pieces of tortilla chips (gross), with an ashy burnt taste that seemed to cling to your tongue. I thought, if they can?t get the tortilla chips right, what?s next. Well, next was the posole (which came with great accolades according to their menu) and the cactus enchilada (even more accolades). The posole wasn?t terrible. It wasn?t as good as some of the home-style posole I?ve had before, but at least it was hot and had a nice combination of tang and spice. The cactus enchilada, and accompanying rice and beans, was just plain terrible. The food was lukewarm, the cheese over the enchilada was only half-melted, and the green chile was thin and bland. The refried beans had a musky off-taste, and the rice was wet, like it had been frozen, thawed, and reheated. And to top it off, the service was a bumbling mess. We waited for almost a half hour for someone to take our order, and for at least as long to get our (awful) food. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. I was looking for good inexpensive Mexican food, and hopefully, a place which I could return to whenever a Mexican food craving arose. Rosa Linda came highly recommended as such a place by some friends, whose opinions about food I highly respect. I was not expecting gourmet or exotic cuisine...just good basics, at a decent price, with a little authenticity for the atmosphere. Unfortunately, Rosa Linda's failed miserably in all aspects. The service is quite honestly the worst that I can remember...and the dining room was perhaps a quarter full and there were plenty of servers. My Sol beer arrived without a lime; the refried beans were a cold, gelatinous paste; the rice was a wet and clumpy disaster; and I had to ask my server if the small charred pile sulking on the edge of my plate was in fact the fajitas that I ordered...sadly, it was. I even had to ask my server for tortillas to go with my fajitas...I received corn despite ordering flour. But at least the tortillas were warm, unlike everything else that sat on the table. The dining room was dead quiet, as not even the radio was playing, just awkward whispers from each table. The prices were not even reasonable, partly because my wife ordered an enchilada and received the platter (although I was so very excited for more cold pasty refried beans!) Denver's Best Mexican. The food is the best Mexican you'll find in Denver. It's not only delicious, authentic, and unique... they are INCREDIBLY vegetarian-friendly--they have a whole menu page of mouth-watering veggie selections. The roasted jalapenos are amazing so be sure to order a side of them! The location is convenient to the Highlands and East Highlands, as well as right across the bridge from Riverside Park and LoDo. They have a great patio.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with other posters that (and this is the ONLY reason I only gave them 4 stars) the service leaves a lot to be desired. We waited 30 minutes to be offerered our check once, we've spend 15 to 20 minutes trying to wave down a server for a drink or more chips. Expect to spend AT LEAST 1 1/2 hours for dinner here... Rude Staffer - Not Recommended. I first went there 5 years ago and was not impressed. I went in the other night when I was in the neighborhood. From the moment I walked in, one of the staffers (turns out to be the eldest son of the propietors) was rude to me for no reason. I sat in the bar area. The bartender was very attentive and saw to my every need. The food was okay. The rice was overcooked, but tasted alright. As I was leaving, I tipped the bartender. Then the eldest son walked up to me and accused me of not paying, yelling at me in front of everybody, trying to humiliate me. I told him I paid and he turned around and asked the cashier if I had paid. At first she said no, then she corrected herself and confirmed that I had paid. The eldest son turned away from me and mumbled a half hearted apology. He didn't even have the courtesy to look me in the eyes and apologize. With this kind of rude behavior, I can not recommend this place to anyone.  View Less … View More
