Love the antipasti and classic cocktails! Best place to stop in for a quick bite and great atmosphere!

I live in North Denver and sample all the local spots. When I am going Italian I like Geatano's. Thay have a unique old style atmosphere as well as great food. The bartender, Tram is great mixologist and creates some great classic cacktails. The vodka gimlet is my fave. A couple of those with a order of their calamari at the bar is a great start. I have had just about everything on the menu and well, what can I say except YUUUUUM! Consistancy in food and service is why I frequent a joint and they have it covered.

Bad experience from the get go. Started off with wet seats. No big deal but it got worse from there: dirty water glasses and bread plates/ semi brown lettuce for their weak salads, and to top it off, flys buzzing around our heads orbiting the chandelier. Our waitress (nice lady though) was also the bartender which delayed our service. Our meals did not all come out at once but when they did, the sauce was actualy really good in my eggplant sandwhich. However, our son ordered a sausage sandwhich and ended up with severe food sickness that lasted the entire night and gave us a lovely trip to the quick care the next morning. The sausage was a patty by the way and not a link. Needless to say we wont be going back.

I think this is a great place to take the family. I liked the drinks, the fun atmostphere, and the pizza was actually good!

I've been going into Gaetanos for about five years. They have a good red sauce and the new meat gravy on Sundays is great. The table service is marginal and the bar service can be down right offensive. Who needs to be talked down to when ordering a drink? The pizza is fair, a bit salty, and never the same. The kitchen looks a little dirty and it can be very slow. I recently waited 40 minutes for a small think crust pizza and the place was empty. When I asked if the pizza had changed, the response was "it all depends on who is in the kitchen". So much for any consistency. They need to try a bit harder to impress customers and hire some better staff.

Pros: Good red sauce, low key

Cons: VERY Inconsistent food and bad bar service

I have to agree with the previosu reviewer. Reular menu is ok, but the pizza is terrible. Chunky cheese and bland sauce. The crust was the worst part. It was flaky which ususally indicates it was old and rolled, instead of tossed. There were also screen marks on the bottom which means the pizza is never making direct contact with the pizza stone in the oven. Another sign of bad pizza more akin to Dominos.

The high rating is extremely misleading. Food is average at best. As a perveyor of fine pizza (i.e. NYC) Not much of a step up from "the big chains" that are so prevalent in the front range.

After a high recommendation from a friend, my husband and I went to Gaetano's for the first time with very high expectations only to end up very disappointed by the extremely slow and inattentive service. We were seated right away, but waited almost an hour and a half for our meal. We started off with a flat beer, but great salads (both the ceasor and the house salad with gorgonzola dressing) which came about 20 mins after we had ordered. After an hour of waiting, the hostess came over and asked if we were waiting for something and I replied, 'YES, our food.' 10-15 mins later, the manager came over with our meal and had apologized which was nice, but at this point in time, I was too furious too accept any sort of apology. He was nice enough to comp our meal, but I was too upset to sit there and eat, and just left. Yes, I lost control of my patience and made a little scene, but I was tired, hungry and just lost my patience! As much as I would have loved to have tried their food, I definitely will not be going back.

we just love the place . the service was excellent the food was excellent what more can one ask for . my life partner is an artist. the thing i loved about the place is that she could draw on the table cloth ( paper ) . As soon as the waitress knew she could draw she broght some colored pencils and we had a ball . thanks Gaetano's staff for the great time. Richard Lucero an old northsider.

The restaurant was smokey, the food was cold, tasted like it was frozen and heated in the microwave, and the service was slow, unprofessional and overall a mess.
