Gluten Free Pizza is HORRIBLE

by gluten free

I loved this place when it was small and when I was able to eat regular food. Now I am gluten free because of Celiac Disease.

I am thrilled that a lot of restaurants are trying to include gluten free items on their menus, however, most of them don't do it well.

The gluten free pizza here at Parisi is by far the worst I have had anywhere! Totinos $3 pizza is better. It appeared it was a frozen pizza that was then topped with a few pieces of mushroom. I sent it back once because it wasn't even warm when they served it. Plus this place is overcrowded, you are packed in like sardines, and the ordering process is just stupid. Wish it could go back to the original great place it was.

If you want truly exceptional GLUTEN FREE ITALIAN FOOD,

go to ABRUSCI'S Italian Restaurant 3244 Youngfield Wheat Ridge. Real GF bread! Pizza like reg pizza, Sandwiches are great too! Next time I will go the extra distance.

  • Pros: appreciate they want to include gluten free in the menu
  • Cons: gluten free pizza is terrible and overpriced!

Horrible gluten free pizza

by flintmoonie

Before I became gluten free, Parisi was my favorite pizza. So, imagine my excitement when they have gluten free pizza crust that is advertised as "better than ever." Not only do you have to pay $5 more for gluten free, you are paying more for a substandard pizza that is like eating cardboard with sauce and stingy sprinkling of cheese and toppings. Only go to Parisi if you can enjoy their regular menu items.

  • Pros: regular pizza and entrees are amazing
  • Cons: gluten free pizza is overpriced and tasteless

Poor Service @ Parisi Italian Market!!!

by foodseeker7

Service staff was rude and lack common sence regarding an elderly lady with a O2 tank...she was seated at a table resting before ordering and a service staff girl make her leave! Even other guests asked to let her stay and they would go to another table, but the server insisted that she leave the table and go the the other side of the market to sit before waiting in line to order food and drink. With many other delis and eating out choices in that area, one would think that some common sence regarding elderly with a O2 tank could have a break at Parisi! Try Vinnola, Carbone, or Patrick Carrolls...

Best pizza in Denver

by msfrancais

We've tried the pizza all over Denver, and keep coming back to Parisi. The Margarita pizza is as good as anything we had in Italy. The crust is thin and crisp, the mozzarella is just to-die-for, and everything is fresh and in all the right proportions. I love all of the food at Parisi, but the Margarita is so good, I don't often stray to another pizza. But don't be afraid of the very affordable daily specials. I've never been disappointed.

  • Pros: Housemade mozzarella
  • Cons: Sometimes there is a wait

Firenze a Tavola-Over Priced/Pretentious Waitstaff

by tastefuldiner

The combination of an arrogant waiter, noisy rooms, and small, over priced food portions that were nothing special made us angry that we'd even gone there. I just don't see the point of Firenze a Tavola's existence!

Certainly not in this tough economy.

As a huge fan of Italian food, this place was a "rip off."

  • Pros: Initial Impression of This Downstairs Restaurant was Cozy
  • Cons: As Restaurant Filled Up, Very Noisy & Pricey

One of the best pizzas in Denver

by writeon1

If you've ever been to Rome, you know that Parisi's pizza is a very authentic version. I especially recommend the margherita, with nothing but a kiss of tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil. Additionally, unlike other reviewers, I find the prices extremely affordable. I've stopped by after work for a take and bake pizza and salad and walked away having spent less than $20. The panini and salads are also extremely good and the service is generally quick and responsive. I love the neighborhood as well as the overall ambience of the space. In a town with lots of pizza places, Parisi certainly stands out among the best, and that list is very short. (The Oven, Enzo's and Proto's all come to mind as well)...

  • Pros: One of the best pizzas in Denver!

this place has excellent thin crust wood fired pizza

by riadoc

a great neighborhood spot for pizza. We have been here for lunch and dinner at least 5 times now. We are extremely particular about pizza. Every now and then we end up with a pizza where the crust is soggy in the center, indicating the oven is not evenly heated.

We have had at least eight of the pizzas and a few other dishes. They have all been above average. The one letdown repeatedly is the Italian wedding soup - don't bother.

Their gelato and ice creams at the deli for dessert are excellent. Many of the take home items from their carry out are also worth a try. Friends whom we have introduced have been pleasantly surprised and I had a business lunch there and those friends were also impressed.

We have not tried the downstairs fine dining option.

Over Rated

by jersyboy55

I started going to Parisi at their old location. The food and service was way better. They try to do it all instead of concentrating on one thing. The food is way overpriced for what you receive. After placing our order we ended with so many plates on our table we couldn't navigate. If you hate ala carte and high prices try Gemelli's a few doors down. Great service, great food, and everything is inclusive. Plus it won't tap your wallet.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Expensive ala carte

eh

by Happy2008

Disliked the food for the price. It's that awkward atmosphere where you feel like you should leave a tip but there really isn't any service. You buy your food at the register and then they bring it to you. That's it. They also choose where you sit, which is fine and like most restaurants, but they sat us right behind the location where they brought the dishes. All we heard was clanging and people chatting right behind us. I think this place is better for the market located inside the restaurant and not a good spot to sit and eat. Try it for yourself though.

Cheapest trip to Italy ever! Including the lost luggage.

by denverdiner101

Parisi is one of those places I've become addicted to! Even though the joint has becoming incredibly popular (read long lines) it is still always a pleasure to wait for my perfect pizza. The other dishes can be incredible as well, such as the homemade gnocchi and risotto. Parisi is the closest thing I've found to Italy, were I travel often, as it offers a fun, come everyone and bring your outside voice and vino sort of environment. The last time I was in we had a party of eight people on a Saturday night and the staff made us fell at home as we waited (quite a while) for our table. They even brought us some snacks to munch on at the counter and the kids were entertained by the showmanship of the pizza makers. When we got our table we enjoyed the the dishes we had ordered and were amazed at the number of people waiting to get a taste of this little slice of Florence. My only complaint would be the crazyness of the entire process, but it also adds to the charm of the whole experience. We finished the night with gelato and some tiramisu from the deli. On the way out we wandered downstairs and were astonished to find an entirely different restaurant. Much less hustle and a great looking menu, have to get back soon. Overall, always a great time with great food and so far, no lost luggage.

  • Pros: Great food, cool concept, cheap eats
  • Cons: Long wait, parking, not closer to home
