Best Wine Shop in Denver

I'm so sorry you had a horrible experience at Mondo Vino! I would love to make it up to you. I treat my employees very well! Many of them have been with me for alot of years. The retail buisness is tough. We try to give everyone the best service, treatment and a great bottle of Wine or anything else they like to drink. I go above and beyond for our neigborhood I dont want to dominate it, I just want it to be the best that it can be! I hope I can earn your buisness back! Feel free to call anytime 303-458-3858

I don't like lambasting places, but I will make an exception for this place. I like supporting local businesses even more, but I won't be shopping here. Shopping at Mondo Vino is bad for your neighborhood. They obviously don't treat their employees with any respect, after seeing the high employee turnover compared to other neighborhood shops.
I've waited at the counter before, and actually gotten the most stuck up looks from the employees. I thought that maybe it was an employee problem, then I had the pleasure one pretty Saturday afternoon of seeing how the owner actually talks to the employees, and it's no wonder. The owner is totally condescending to his employees, like he was so great because he owns a liquor store. The owner is the first guy I have ever seen that can smile with his face and not his eyes to the customers.
This owner obviously wants to dominate 'his' neighborhood, and wants to push around his employees however he can. An employer that doesn't care about his employees will never have employees that care about the customers.
You say you have great selection? Nice. But when there's 100 wine stores in Denver with great selection, and better price, you better offer something special. Save your time and money, you'll get the same experience or better at total beverage.
- Pros: The parking lot guy will tow your car, even if you're a regular customer, YAY!
- Cons: Already mentioned.
The PERFECT wine shop...
by ladybit3
Amazing selection, super friendly/non-pushy and knowledgeable staff and they even let me bring my HUGE Great Dane with me! I LOVE the Sat. afternoon tastings...they offer at least 3 different wine each Sat. and every time I visit (on a Saturday) I end up buying one of the wines they are offering at the tasting. Last time I bought all three bottles! This is the kind of place that should be in EVERY great neighborhood. LOVE IT!
- Pros: Staff, selection, wine tastings
- Cons: Not open on Sundays! ;)

love for the Mondo

The Mondo Vino is the greatest wine shop in Denver. Not only is Duey one of the most generous people in the world, but his shop and staff reflect his grand generousity. It has been a pure delight to be a customer, as well as a friend to everyone at the Mondo Vino.
