Great White Pizza, Nicest People, Good Service

Pizza served hot and by a friendly waitstaff. Our group of ten enjoyed the experience and will go back again.
Good pizza-bad everything else
by mingus1 at Citysearch
We ate at the Edgewater Inn on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. We went early because we know it gets busy. We ordered the Howdy pizza. Because we know that the pizza takes awhile we ordered a dinner salad and a cup of soup. We asked for water twice. The waiter came back and asked if my husband wanted water too. Got the wine and beer before the water. After 45 minutes, I asked the waiter if he remembered that we had ordered soup and salad. He told us the kitchen was backed up. One hour afer we sat down we got our soup and salad. We were still waiting for our pizza when the waiter brought our check. My husband reminded him that we ordered a pizza, the waiter said he would put a rush on the pizza. Another 25 minutes. No offer of any type of compensation. I looked around and there was a line out the door but no food other than appetizers was being served to anyone at the tables. What is going on with this restaurant? Is it the disorganization of the kitchen and waitstaff? Two hours we were there. When we were leaving we remembered why we had not been there in a few years. We like the place, we love the pizza, we hate the inexcusable wait.
- Pros: Good pizza
- Cons: Long waits and forgetful waitstaff
Jones'n for a slice
by Panther440 at Citysearch
Had to move away from Denver awhile back but I still (and forever will) be Jones'n for pizza at the Edgewater Inn. Make mine a Howdy Special with plenty of tall frosty draft beer to go with it ! ! Great neighborhood spot that still gives me the feeling of Denver how it used to be.
- Pros: atmosphere and killer eats
- Cons: parking a little rough on peak hours
Lunch Buffet needs some adjusting
by LongtimeEdgewaterFan at Citysearch
I love Edgwater Pizza however the lunch buffet needs help - if you are like me you have more or less an hour for lunch. We went yestyerday and spent the majority of that waiting for a pizza to come out - then they only bring one for a restaurant full of people - mostly men! In my opinion, $11.00 for one peice of pizza, a salad, coke and tip isnt worth it.
Local place

Edgewater Inn is great. Saying this as a long time customer. They have really good pizza and it is VERY local. It has been over talked about becasue it is sooooo good. The pizza literally melts in your mouth. The sweetness is my personal favorite, the howdie is really spicy and the pinnaple and ham is really good. It is an Edgewater tradition to the people who live there. If you are looking for a nice sit down pizza place...dont know why would, dont come here as you will be sadly disappointed. This place is little and packs the people in, but it is way worth it for the pizza that you have to eat with a fork! My recomendation is to order the thin crust.
- Pros: PIZZA, Atmosphere and the Scooner beer
- Cons: If you dont like little, loud, local places
Overrated don't Understand its Popularity

I was telling one of my suppliers that the only halfway decent pizza that I'd found in Denver was Parisi on Tennyson and 44th. He said that he loved the Edgewater Inn. I wasn't expecting an authentic pizza like I might find in New Haven or New York, but I hoped for a decent neighborhood style. My wife and I went two times. First, the place is always busy and very noisy and very working class. Let me really emphasize the noisy. Service was poor both times. Pretty quick to greet, but nothing else. We ordered the sweetness on the first visit and found a too thick and uncooked crust (crisp on the outside but about 3/8" thick in the center with the top 1/2 raw because the oven wasn't hot enough, the crust was too thick, or there were too many ingredients--or all of the above. We waited a few months and decided to try it again, but to order a pizza with fewer ingredients in the hope that they'd get the crust done at least. We sat on the patio this time because it seemed quieter. It wasn't. Service--well when the first burned pizza came out after 45 minutes, we didn't even get and apology. I called the waitress back and asked if we'd made a mistake ordering when they were so busy. She said, "Yes, when I saw how bad your pizza was burned, I wondered what the chef was thinking, would you like a free drink to make up for it?" No, we'd like a new pizza. She came back a few minutes later and said we can do it in 25 minutes. I stayed with my water and my wife with her iced tea. 25 minutes later we got a near raw pizza, which we said was fine. We didn't eat much, paid for it--and tipped I'm ashamed to say. We've spent the last two days home and sick. My vote is to stay away unless this is what you think good pizza is all about.
- Pros: None that I can think of
- Cons: Poor food and poor service
Good food, but the mushrooms...
by jjturn at Citysearch
The service was average. They were quick to greet us and wiped down our highchair before bringing it to us (a plus), but the server was less than friendly. We ordered the veggi cannolis (similar to a calzone), which was great until we discovered that they use canned mushrooms which turned us off from the experience. I would go back, as the food was really tasty, however, I would recommend asking them to hold the mushrooms.
Great Pizza

I grew up in Denver and the Edgewater Inn has made one of the best pizzas in Denver for as long as I can remember. After I got married my husband and I would get one of their pizzas about twice a month. I moved from Denver about twenty years ago and I still think about their pizza and wish I could get one. Great pizza.
- Pros: Good Pizza
- Cons: The parking left a lot to be desired and the was small
Great Pizza Joint!
by amyd_422 at Citysearch
Edgewater Inn has the best pizza ever! The crust/sauce/toppings mix is absolutely perfect. The environment is fun and relaxed. A little crowded on the weekends, but it's just a testament to how great their pizza is. I recommend the Sweetness.
- Pros: Great pizza
- Cons: Sometimes a little slow, crowded on the weekends

North Denver neighborhood bar serves "scooners" of beer and locally famous pizza pies in a rustic atmosphere.
