A satisfactory night's stay. by Steve V. at InsiderPages

On a business trip, I picked this hotel from the Internet. It was adequate - nothing fancy... a good place to just sleep. There wasn't an on-site restaurant, but it's close to other places. It's also close to Coors Field.
Distinctive whitewashed and tile-roofed chain offers convenience and consistency.

In Short
Since opening its first location next to the San Antonio World's Fair in 1968, this well-known chain has become synonymous with consistency and reasonable rates. Room conveniences include data port phones with voice mail, work spaces, coffeemakers, irons, hair dryers and TVs with premium channels, movies-on-demand and video games. Budget-conscious travelers appreciate the free continental breakfast and families traveling with children like the pool and kids-stay-free policy.
Clean, courteous, great location

I was warned by friends that this would be a bad place to stay as it is in a "sketchy" part of town. Actually, it's by the highway, with easy access to both I-25 (Denver's main North-South highway) and I-70 (Denver's main East-West highway). It's definitely a motel-grade place and not as fancy as those in more central downtown, but the rooms were clean and spacious and the location is still very close to the main business area downtown, and very close to Coors Field and LoDo. All in all a great value. I'd also add that the continental breakfast was better than most, in that it included Otis Spunkmeyer muffins (not stale, cafeteria-type muffins as is served in many other motels of this class), Yoplait yougurt, and hard boiled eggs, among the standard cereal, toast, bagel, coffee, juice fare. Perfect for small kids. Finally, the housekeeping staff there is very honest, as they turned in cash that had been accidentally left in the room by my son. I was very pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for an affordable, clean, comfortable place to stay in Denver with kids, I'd recommend this place.
- Pros: Location (convenience), rates, continental breakfast
- Cons: Location (a bit loud by the highway and sort of industrial), laundry room (small and inconveniently located)
