Very fast, excellent service. Great if you don't like Mexican food with flavor & spice.
by bananny
Upon arrival, the place had a good atmosphere and looked to be a bit higher class than most Mexican restaurants. We were seated immediately, drinks brought promptly & our appetizer of chile con queso came out just as our chips & salsa did. I have to say the salsas, 3 separate salsas to sample, were EXCELLENT! I was impressed. However, the disappointment began with the chile con queso. Completely lacking in flavor. Not bad tasting, just no taste. The waitress was quick to re-fill our drinks, we were never empty. Again, excellent service.
Now, to the main course. Large plates were set in front of us. Good portion size for the price. However again, lacking in flavor & absolutely no spice whatsoever. Overall, the meal was very bland. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. As a Mexican food connoisseur and someone that LOVES spicy food, this was a huge disappointment.
If you can't handle spicy food and don't like flavor & mouth watering taste, this place is perfect for you.
- Pros: Excellent service & food came out FAST!
- Cons: Food was bland, no flavor and no spice.
You have a 50/50 chance

Eating at Las Margaritas is like rolling the dice. I have dined there 4 times over the past 2 months and it has been great twice and disgusting twice. Batting .500 is good for a baseball player but not for a reastaurant. I suggest you stick to drinks on the patio and eat somewhere down the street after the sun sets.
Great Service!

I read some of the previous reviews and have to correct some of the errors. First this is not Tex Mex..It is Las Cruces style mexican food. Secondly anyone who orders a house margarita gets what the deserve. Buy one of the many other margaritas there, they are awesome. I live about 20 miles but eat and drink here a couple time a week because the food and service are great. Zak is a hilarious bartender and I always ask to sit in Jame's section because he is one of the best servers in town. The food is very traditional and consistent. I love this place!
- Pros: Food and Service
- Cons: Parking
Great place to "stop by"
by denverboi
I have to admit this is not the best place for food or drinks, but its on restaurant row and its definitely worth a visit now and then. I often come for lunch and have to admit, it does not taste like traditional Mexican food (in regards to spice and flavor), but it works, especially for a quick fix. The service has always been good, always treated kindly. The food is average, but so is the price-guess it goes hand in hand. The smaller lunch specials are worth looking into. The drinks are fair and I have to suggest the fajitas for dinner. Always enough to take home and for a really good price.
- Pros: Good service, clean & affordable
- Cons: food is not that good
Worst Frozen Margarita Ever!
by dkugel
This restaurant has many great things going fit it. They have an avocado dip that is made to your liking at your table. The food is great - the best Baja Fish Tacos I've eaten. But the frozen margaritas were tasteless. The bartender explained that is the case with any frozen drink as the ice dillutes the drink. He put more tequilia in it for me but still tasteless. This would be a great restaurant equalling any in the city if they could just improve the "las Margaritas"
- Cons: the margarita
Beautiful Restaurant... Really Good Food!
by zoezendenver
The service is always very attentive, the atmosphere is very comfortable (a lot of plants) I really enjoy this chicken dish called Pollo Tampico, very tasty. My friend really enjoyed the Spinach Enchiladas and we both shared the Chocolate Chimi's for dessert. Wow on the Chimi's!
Two Thumbs Up!
- Pros: Chocolate Chimi's, Atmosphere, Fun
Go for drinks...not the food
by llamaofthesea
My wife and a good friend used to live near 17th and Ogden - just a block away from this Las Margaritas location. We went there a couple times and the food was dissapointing. I've heard several other people say the same thing about the food, but liked the drinks and late night patio in the summer.
- Pros: drinks, patio, location
- Cons: food
good eats

Stop by this Joint if your around Capital Hill
by jake_yukon
While searching for a place to have lunch in Capital Hill a friend and I discovered this Upscale Mexican restaurant with the Biggest patios (2) Patios! My native Denver friend told me that Uptown Denver/East 17th Ave is Denver's original restaurant row and has alot of dining choices. Anyway this place has a very big menu and VERY intoxicating easy to drink margaritas that they serve in pint beer glasses. We both had enchilada plates (they have like 8 to choose from) If you are a enchilada fan, your going to freak out! Best I have ever had. Give this place a Try!
- Pros: Margaritas, Patios, Enchiladas
- Cons: Someone should, have told, me sooner
An upscale atmosphere and patio dining combine to dress up this midtown Mexican spot.

In Short
During happy hour, downtowners drop in to ogle each other and feast on free munchies. The namesake margaritas, from fruity to cool and coconut-y, ease the jangled nerves of the after-work crowd. If the free munchies aren't enough, the menu features traditional Southwestern fare like burritos, huevos rancheros, carnitas, chicken and steak plates, along with a number of vegetarian dishes. Don't forget about dessert: sopapillas, fried ice cream and creamy, rich homemade flan.
