Triple B Rating of F - Stealers and Liars

by thatoneguypaul

I only used the Hyatt pool where they had a contract. Their contract ended with Hyatt and they didn't inform members of it ending. I wanted to cancel my membership, because I only used the pool. They said they were going to charge me for two months, since they need a 30 day notice of cancellation, and since I had told them I wanted to cancel on July 3 instead of July 1. I explained that if I had known the pool contract was ending 30 days before it ended, I would have put in my cancellation notice then. I filed a complaint with the Triple B and their official response to it was that they had offered to cancel my membership as of July 1!!! They also said that I had used their club, which I never did, I only used the pool.

  • Pros: Nothing
  • Cons: Lied to the Triple B about my complaint

Really Good Health Club

by coloradoclubber

Ive been a member of the Colorado Athletic Club at the Monaco location since 1998 and have been very happy with this health club facilty. There is really alot to do from group fitness classes, basketball, racquetball, swimming and tennis to weights and cardio programs. It is also clean and the service is very good. I do not have children but see alot of kids in the daycareand club camps that seem happy too. I think for the money, this club is the biggest and best value for your buck.

  • Pros: Full Range of Programs
  • Cons: Almost Too Much to Do...

Bad Atmosphere/Worse Experience

by Jgore

I was looking for a place to work out after work and I pass the club on my way home everyday so I thought I'd give it a shot. It was a terrible idea. For one thing it's packed after work and it took at least ten minutes to find a parking spot. When I got inside it was crowded in both the waiting area/lounge and in the actual gym. The lounge was filled with yuppy tennis players and the staff seemed similarily snobish and uninterested in making my experience at all enjoyable. The prices were ridiculous for the amount of service provided and I can't believe my friends have stayed with Colorado Athletic Clubs for so long. My husband and I have been looking for a gym for a while and I thought this might work but I think I'm going to stick with the tredmill at home and free weights if this is what's out there. The actual equipment had a fair number of choices but most were not wiped down or in good condition and the staff seemed more interested in checking out themselves in the mirrors and the women working out. It made me annoyed and uncomfortable, especially as I stood waiting for people to vacate the machines I wanted until I saw the pool of sweat and back hair they left. The bathrooms weren't terrible (I'm sure the men's was worse) but even the woman's seemed uncared for. Also, it's a bit of a maze to actually find your way to the exercise equipment past the tennis courts filled with families that appear trained to play tennis well but not even to smile at others. I've heard good things about Colorado Athletic Clubs but this one sucked and I wouldn't come back if they gave me a free membership.
