OK food, Overcharged!. So I bought 2 Groupons for $20, you get $40 of food, thinking I could bring my husband and he could eat one Groupon and one for me. We went all out and had alot. Sorry they didnt honor that so I ended up paying another $60 as we left. 2nd try 2 months later. We had a normal amount and the bill ended with $12 and I told the older asian lady make it a total of $20, she then made the tip $20, and we got out for $33. What a scam! We went out for not fancy, sit at the bar, reach over your plate food and I ended paying $133. WOW! I would never recommend their service, prices or food.…
Fresh sushi and fresh service!.
I have been dining at Banzai for couple years now; every time I go, service and food are always consistent. Not an extensive fish option, but what they serve is surely fresh and portions are
generous. From all these years, I’d probably ordered maybe 2 different rolls, and always nigiri and sashimi, I still say that Banzai has the best chirashi in town and fairly cheap compared to top sushi restaurants in town.
The owner greets every table, and servers are quickly working like bees taking care of customers, greeting them, and making sure our table was always clean.
We’d ordered:
Amaebi nigiri
Toro nigiri
Blue Fin Tuna nigiri
Hamachi (Yellow Tail) nigiri
Unagi nigiri
Hotate
Linda Lee roll
Cod nigiri
This is one of my favorite sushi spots in town! Service is great, I see lots of complaints about service, but it’s really a mom and pop shop sushi joint, and that’s how is supposed to be; servers are knowledgeable about their menu and give great recommendations.…
Horrible Service!. The sushi was good and they have a nice variety BUT the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced! We sat at the bar and felt completely ignored. When we finally got our bill it had a mistake plus they charged us for the edamame which I had read online was free Sunday through Thursday. They said that even though Groupon says they offer free edamame they don't anymore. FALSE ADVERTISING!…
Bad Vibe.
Like many of you we were eager to try a new Sushi spot, and began our search on the internet.
We arrived on a Friday night around 7:30 p.m., and entered the ackward entry into the sole main dining area. We stood uncomfortably inside for over 10 minutes, as various food servers and employees walked by without any type of greeting or instruction. Finally, an employee/manager/owner?? told us to have a seat. She was a preview of the unfriendly and unmotivated staff that appeared to reluctantly serve patrons. We sat for about 30 minutes while cold air blew in through the entry (along the wall, not that doorway) onto our backs.
The lady eventually invited us to our seats, after trying to steer us toward the counter seating. The waitress arrived and took our order. The waitress had the same not rude, but rather less than friendly demeanor you wouldn't expect from a place with a $50.00 plus tab!! The waitress was less than helpful, and did I say less than helpful?
At 45 minutes to closing, a couple entered and politely asked if they could be served. They were turned away in the same "A-List supreme" attitude that we had witnessed all evening.
The kicker after the less than friendly staff was the method of payment. The waitress brings you a handheld device that you sign your credit card charge including the tip information as they stand literally over you! I'm sure this device cuts down on fraud, but extremely RUDE!!
The Sushi was good, but the experience with the staff was overwhelming, or I would not have written this review. I have NEVER written a negative review (I write often for another internet business information source) but felt compelled in this case.
I have been to most of the Sushi restaurants in the metro area, I will avoid Banzai Sushi. I would wholeheartedly recommend Yutaka 11411 S Twenty Mile Road, Parker, CO 80134. 303) 841-8831. You will find that the Sushi is better, the place is clean, modern, and the staff is VERY friendly!!!
Don't waste a planned fun evening at Bonzai Sushi, they are not worth the money...…
No Complaints Here. My wife and I decided to try Banzai Sushi after Groupon had a 50% off deal there. We are not sushi snobs, but do know what fresh sushi should taste like. I am not sure why people have complained about the food and service. Both were outstanding for us. We have been to a few other sushi bars and Banzai is by far my favorite. The staff (including the owner) were very attentive and we never waited or wanted for anything. And I was smiling when I ate my first piece of sushi. We will definitely go back. As far as pricing goes, they are truthfully a bit LESS expensive than most other places. $7-9 for a roll is not a bad price at all and it is quite typical for a decent sushi dinner for 2 to run in the $60-80 area. If you are not prepared to spend that kind of money to have a decent sushi experience, then you don't need to go to ANY sushi bar.…
BEWARE SCAM! FAKE REVIEWS posted by Banzai Sushi.
If you have actually been a patron at Banzai Sushi as I have, you will be able to relate to all the poorly rated reviews: poor quality fish, slow service, and no great deals. This is the TRUTH.
What's amiss you might ask? The OUTRAGEOUSLY glowing 5-star reviews that follow every poor review. Look for yourself. For every bad review, the next one claims it's "the best sushi in the country...Denver's #1...etc, etc.
It is clear the owner or manager of Sushi Zanmai is consistently POSTING FAKE REVIEWS to cover up the real ones people are posting. It's more than obvious given that all the fake 5 star reviews are written in roughly the same length, structure, and tone.
BEWARE! Sushi Banzai is a SCAM and trying to fool you into thinking they're one the best sushi restaurants. I ATE THERE AND I'LL NEVER LET THEM SCAM ME AGAIN…
Oishi...Yummy sushi. Try the nigiri aji, it is unmatched in Denver. The toro rolls are very tasty. I used to live in Japan and find this sushi to be very similar in quality and taste. I also recommend the miso soup.
Another very expensive sushi restaurant.
If you arrive between 5:00 and 5:30, there is no ridiculous line like Sushi Den. However, like Sushi Den, their Happy Hour Menu is a joke. There is no discount on the sushi, only on a couple
selected drinks.
The sushi is very good and the rolls unique. But it is still ridiculously expensive.
Best sushi we have ever had at the most reasonable price: Saburos - in Portland, OR…
Unique Rolls.
I have tried many sushi places in the Denver area and this one still remains my favorite. They have such unique rolls and really interesting and wonderful combinations.
The first time we tried it out was Valentine's Day a few years ago. We had amazing sushi and then were met by the owner with some free saki shots. He talk to us for a while and since I have seen him in the restaurant almost every time we are there. He makes sure that his guests are happy at all times.
I love Banzai and it's location!…
