Good Food, Great Prices, spacious seating-what's not to love?

If you want glitz, go elsewhere and pay through the nose for the overpriced location. If you want good Thai food, and don't care about superficial stuff like the address, then this is going to be one of your faves.

The setting is in a strip mall outside the highly overrated downtown denver area, and to me that's a huge plus, as I detest downtown denver. I've been to "highly rated" downtown thai restaurants that were horrible, not only in food, but in access and parking. This place is easy to get to and easy to park, without fear of getting a ticket or being towed. The decor is not overdone, and is quite comfortable, without having too many tables crammed into too small a space, like the downtown high-price locations. You can have a private conversation and not be run into while you're eating. I hope they stay put.

The food is very tasty and if you want anything special, like extra basil, they don't charge you for it like I've had done elsewhere. I've tried a number of dishes and all of them are good. My son loves their Panang Curry. I like their sampler/appetizer. The main dishes are so reasonably priced you can get a dinner for two with appetizer for under $25!

I've always had good service. The older lady doesn't smile, but then I don't walk around with a vapid grin either, so I don't fault her for her dour demeanor. She's always right there if I need her, and she keeps my ice tea AND water glass filled. The one thing she does that is EXCELLENT is that unlike the usual restaurant help these days, she doesn't interrupt your table conversation to ask if you need anything....she fills your glass quietly and unobtrusively. I find her style of serving very easy to deal with, unlike the more aggressive types in most denver area restaurants. The younger servers are more personable, but not as efficient.

You can drink vast quantities of their Ice tea as they use green tea....very fragrant drink that complements the cuisine.

Best Thai we've found in Denver

My wife travels to Thailand a couple of times a year and I try to go at least once. We really love Thai food and are quite particular about it. We won't eat at the common "meet market" Thai chains in town for example, but if blue-eyed Thai is what you want, don't go here. That's not to say that they don't have the more common Thai dishes. Their Tom Kah Gai is as good a version of this classic soup as you will find anywhere in Denver. They do an excellent Pad Se Lew and the Pad King Sod are favorites as well.

I have never and wouldn't order a Chinese dish here--I don't really care for Chinese when I'm in Thailand either. The place isn't fancy the owner who seats you is quiet but friendly and often serves you. I've never seen the place really busy but there are always three or four tables busy at dinner time. I haven't been here at lunch as it's quite a drive for me. They will cook favorite Thai dishes for you off the menu if you ask and they never over charge for these custom dishes.

We too have tried all the "Waste Words" Thai reviews and much prefer this restaurant to all of the others that we've tried in town

• Pros: Very good Thai food and excellent prices
• Cons: Ambience isn't the best and it's a long way from downtown

Absolutely Disgusting!

My wife and I went to pad Thai and found it to be one of the worst restaurants we've ever been to. I hope owners read this and realize they will get return business by serving fresh good food, rather than cutting corners and putting out the cheapest food possible. I'm not from Thailand, but every spring roll I've ever had is not microwaved. Ordering sesame chicken in a Thai restaurant isn't the greatest idea I know, but you could tell they had been using the same old oil over and over again and it tasted like buttered toast. The chicken was "suspicious". We ordered 3 chicken entrees and I did not see one piece of white meat all night. Again, I'm all for small business, but unless they change their ways and start serving quality food that will keep people coming back, this will be just another business that goes out of business sooner or later.

Finally!!!

it really surprises me that the best Thai restaurant Ive tried in the Denver area is in Lakewood, not Denver. Westword and Citysearch reviews for Thai restarants in Denver aren't even authentic Thai restaurants. Most of them taste like Chinese food.

When we went here I was so happy to see some of my favorite dishes on a Thai menu (spring rolls that are not Vietnamese rolls so typically found in Denver thai restaurants)-and excellent tasting food. Everything we tried was excellent. This is definitely the place Ill be going back to-not lame Thai basil or any of the other "best of Denver" thai restaurants. Westword needs to get some reviewers that have eaten Thai food outside of Denver. Also, who cares about the ambience, the food is amazing.

• Cons: Not the friendliest service but definitely prompt.

Get the Soup!

Our family eats at all the Thai restaurants around Denver, and we have a favorite dish at each one. At this one, don't pass up the Tom Kha soup. You can get it with chicken or, for vegetarians, with tofu. And you can choose your degree of heat, just like you do with the entrees.

On the whole, Pad Thai is our favorite. Yes, it's very casual, run by members of a family. It's not a white table cloth spot. It's very relaxed, and gives you a great value for the money.

• Pros: wide selection, vegetarian friendly, mild to super hot!!
• Cons: want fancy? forget it

Average at Best

After reading the reviews posted here I decided to give Pad Thai a try. Although the food is not bad, it is definitely not as superior as stated in the other reviews. I would just call the taste and freshness average. The price was very good but the atmosphere definitely needs some work.

Food is awesome and very nicely priced. They really need to move this place to a nicer location and dress the staff up a little
