quant mountain hot springs.

by LeelooQuagsLeonard

I have been going here my whole life, and those of you expecting an upscale experience should stay in denver. You have to take it for what it is. a MOUNTAIN hot springs. the water comes straight from the ground and it feels wonderful, but if you want to feel like a princess and be pampered like a queen, stay in cherry creek!

A great stop after a day of skiing

by fuzkittieo

My boyfriend and I stopped by this resort to unwind after a day of skiing at Breckenridge. We had made a reservation for the private outdoors jacuzzi for the late afternoon, and were given the key to the jacuzzi promptly when we arrived to check in. After reading some reviews online, I didn't expect much of this place. However, we were both wonderfully surprised at how great a time we had there.

The outdoors jacuzzi was surrounded by three sides of wooden fence, giving it a old-times feel, and the fourth side was right up against the mountain, so we had a good view while we relaxed. The water was so nice and hot, and it was clean as well. The bubble jets worked well. There was also very quaint Native American style music that gave it an interesting touch.

We relaxed while enjoying the combination of the nature and the music. It got even better when it started snowing, the mixture of the cold air and hot water was amazing.

The service was fine and it was a great ending for an active day. I would suggest people to come here after skiing or a day of rigorous activity.

What a terrible suprise

by ninaarn

My boyfriend and I went here for a specal weekend and ended up stuck in a rickty old smokey room. The springs were filthy and indoors surrounded by fake plants. The bathrooms were filthy and the private steam room that is given to couples resembled a room from a horror movie more than a retreat. There were low celielings, a shower that constantly ran even when you tried to turn it off, and a swining wired lightbuld that flickered on and off in the back of the room

  • Pros: In the mountains
  • Cons: room, services, facilities and dining

Soak in the luxurious baths of this historic resort and hot springs.

by Contributor

The Scene
The original 1905 resort buildings still stand, stocked with half-baths and heated by steam radiators. More recent developments include rooms with modern amenities and king-sized beds. Still, the place feels a bit run-down, with old furniture and an overdose of rusticity. However, visitors can indulge here in the geothermal caves and spa treatments. Once past the touristy exterior, Indian Springs is worth the visit.

The Details
Since the cave pools are separated by gender, guests can steep naked in the mineral-rich water or let white clay pull toxins from their bodies as you bake beneath heating lamps in Club Mud. Massages and facials are available, as are private indoor or outdoor baths. Camping spots are available, and the on-premise restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort is crowded on weekends, with lots of kids in the swimming pool.

Every Expense is Spared

by brainh

Way way way too many signs greet you everywhere you go with new rules and procedures at every turn. I'm looking at a cheesy photocopied sheet of 14 services that you can get that all cost extra on top of your stay. If you have the cheesy paper VIP card, you can get like a buck off of each of these things. If you pay for the room ($75-100), then you get the small, kind of nasty bath water hot springs pool for free, but if you want to use a hot tub, you have to pay $20 per hour! I got one of their newest rooms, and it's great if you wanted a Super 8 for $40. No internet at all. The shower is cheap plastic. No tub. The soap is microscopic. The furniture is about the style that you'd get if you shopped at Office Depot for your bedroom furniture. Overall the whole place is just remotely clean. Not terrible, but certainly not clean. The Bar/restaurant is super gross. It's dirty. It stinks. And at 4:30 on a wednesday it had about a dozen dirty, long haired dudes that were smashed, sitting around the bar listening to 70's rock. And here's the kicker. I just found a cricket in my room by the bed. I know that won't eat me, but it just all adds together.

It's not a terrible place, but I expected a heck of a lot more from a "resort"

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: paying $20 per hour for stinky gross hot tubs

Horrible experience

by lotus74

This place is absolutley horrendous - the customer service was beyond bad. I brought my mother up there for a b-day present and was shocked at how badly we were treated upon walking in. The girl behind the desk was very rude and not helpful at all, like we had interrupted her day by coming in to pay for an overpriced day at thier dank filthy facilities. We had to PAY to use the lockers, the first one just taking our money and not opening. They couldn't even find us TOWELS.. instead telling us to wrap ourselves in flimsy sheets and when it was time for our facials and massages to come up into the very public lobby to meet our therapists. The "caves" are slimy and have what looks to be physcial therapy pools from the 1930's as the "tubs". I have to say, though, that our therapists were very nice, and we got decent facials and massages. But during my massage, the actual room flooded from one of the tubs and I had to wade out of my treatment afterwards. Do not waste your money..

  • Cons: Horrible everything

Paco's has the best chimicangas and dark beer, a few blocks away !!!!!!!!

by nightwing51

I guess you can only write one review per visit...this is actually my second review...My first review I recommended the resort and It was good for kids...and that is still my recommendation....upon reading another review...the guy thought the same gender atmosphere was exciting...good for him....I don't swing that way....Ok, the place is a little run down, but it is over 100 years old for goodness sake...and you do get alot of B--g for your buck....$20 for a private hot tub per hour isn't really all that bad as long as its a minimal of two people....and yea, the Texas BBQ, has some mountain folks hanging out, and may be a little crude....but guess what???? your in the Mountains !!!!! Duh.....and some of the things a little high priced...but its a tourist area...and when I was there this year, april 13th and 14th.... 2007, they seem to have plenty of business...especially on the week end.....once again I enjoyed the hot springs...and it was great....and once again, when I go back to Denver ...Im gonna stay in Idaho Springs for a couple of days.....there are so many things changing now a days....As long as Indian Springs Resort stays the same.....and Idaho Springs Stays the same, its ok with me, and Yes Paco's still has the best Chimmicangas...... and dark beer.....Mike (-=

  • Pros: It is a great place if you love the mountains, but don't want to spend all your money.
  • Cons: The Safeway Grocery store closes too early

Awful!

by lepc

We got the worst customer service, very rude!

The facilities are not very clean either and the prices are too high for the quality of service.

Do yourself a favor, and avoid this place.

Resort my #$%!!!

by bouldermatty

Indian Springs resort should be renamed Indian Springs Public Pool. The service is extremely poor, and the "Resort" is very unflexible. The "resort" has no problem overcharging for unclean and rundown facilities. Do not expect the "resort" employees to make you feel at home. After spending the night there, I felt the need to appologize to the employees for bothering them with my business. I will never go back and would not consider recommending the "resort" to anybody.

  • Cons: Customer Service, Uncleanliness, Very overpriced
