Where should I start? It's Great!
by alkevergreen at Citysearch
I've stayed here more than once - and every room is better than the last. What is great is that it is always up-to-date. The owners and staff take such pride in the accommodations and the service they provide. They are always adding something to the services, ammenities and rooms and cottages. From the smallest details in the rooms to the stylish decor to the outstanding breakfast - I find myself planning my next trip there before I've left. Because it's a short drive from denver in a setting that gives you that "vacation" feel without spending an arm and leg to get there it's a regular getaway for me. I can't say enough good things about the Inn....already planning my next visit for a Girls Weekend!
- Pros: ambience, distance from denver, service
Great place to stay
by RMR333 at Citysearch
Though I live in the Denver metro area, I like to get away to the mtns. when I can. Highland Haven is a great place to stay after a day or two in the mtns. Very rustic looking with the "feel" of Colorado in every room. The service is excellent. The total experience is well worth the slightly higher cost. Great place for your out of town guests to stay...
- Pros: Great ambience
Best B&B in Colorado!
by SJD0920 at Citysearch
My husband and I spent two wonderful nights at the Highland Haven in May. It was by far the best decision we made on our trip our west! The setting is romantic and beautiful...located next to a mountain creek. The owners are warm, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay one to remember. The homemade breakfast was delicious each morning. The HH would be the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or conference. We hope to have the opportunity to return someday.
Classic log lodging with picture-postcard views from private balconies and decks.

The Scene
Guests enter the grounds after crossing the bridge over Bear Creek and coming through the stone column entryway. This B&B is nestled amid massive rock outcroppings in the picturesque foothills just thirty minutes west of Denver. It offers a beguiling combination of rusticity and elegance. This is a favorite destination for honeymooners, families with older children and small corporate retreats.
The Details
Accommodations are in stand-alone cottages with names such Blue Spruce, Hillside and Creekside, or in one- and two-bedroom suites in the lodge--each with its own private entrance. Four-poster beds have goose-down duvets, which are welcome during the cool mountain evenings, even in summer. Amenities include in-room hot tubs, fireplaces and a home-baked breakfast by your hostess who is also a cookbook author.
