Finding a good Thai place in Denver has been a difficult search, and unfortunately Thai Basil was just about as mediocre as a restaurant can get. The decor is nice and the dinnerware they use is interesting--beautiful clay pots for the curry and big square laquer plates for noodles--however, the food ranges from mediocre to not good at all. Good thai chefs understand subtlety and Thai Basil is far from subtle. Its food is unfailingly oversauced, my Drunken Noodles were drowning in sauce and my friend's gorgeous red snapper filet was a soggy mess of sauce and wilted vegetables. We tried Thai Basil twice, hoping that it would be good since its so close to our home, but both times it disappointed. Swing Thai is a block away--go there. It's not great either, but at least its cheap.
Pros: nice furniture and dinnerware
Cons: not so nice food
