poor service and food
by beerman44
The maetballs and sausage are always different, very dry and seem to come from a food service (frozen). The sauce is never the same any two times. Don't know if it's canned or if they have different cooks making it daily. Also a little pricey for spaghetti and meatballs. The service is so so. They should have kept it on Lowell it seemed more family owned and operated, don't see any of the original owners at the new place. the people who run it now don't even look like there Italian.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: food is very inconsistent
One of the Best Italian Restaurants in Denver
by jakalaki
We were so sad to see Valente's close down on W. 38th Ave--it was the best Italian in Denver for decades. We were glad to find Papa J's with a traditional, cozy, nice but comfortable Italian atmosphere, great service and great food on 75th Ave & Sheridan. The service is great! The atmosphere is great! The food is great! Some, but not all of their pastas are homemade--spag is not linguine is. Just ask if you prefer homemade pasta. Nothing is Valente's but Papa J's is in the same league. Ample parking and large spaces for big parties. It's real Italian, so it is kid and family friendly.
- Pros: Atmosphere, service, food, value, family friendly, parking, large party space
- Cons: None

Papa J's or papa Joke's

This place was horrible. I had heard many rave about the taste. The atmosphere, what atmosphere. Save your money and go to pagliacci's.
- Pros: none
- Cons: terrible food, no atmosphere, rude waitstaff

Papa's Head of the Family!
by terbear117
With Papa J himself strolling around playing violin on the weekend nights, the atmosphere is fabulous... almost as good as the food. From their homemade house salad dressing to the outstanding pasta sauces, Papa J's doesn't skimp on anything. Prices are reasonable and the food a great value. The daily lunch buffet let's diners try a little of everything for a steal. My family's favorite, hand's down.
- Pros: Terrific food flavor, Good parking, Reasonable prices
