The Food here is great, the staff is accomodating, and the service is really good. You can watch any game you want to at this place, just request it they probably have it!

Pros: Flying Dog everywhere!

Cons: Dirty bathrooms

The Blake Street Tavern was recommended to me by my hotel as a fun place to go with good food. I was there on St. Patrick's Day. I enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and personable. Next time I'm in Denver, I'll definitely return!

The serivce staff is great, the burgers are second to none, and the Flying Dog brew is the freshest in the city (it's brewed next door).

Pros: Burger, Flying Dog, Trivia

Cons: Parking, Occasionally Loud Sports

This is good place that's just far enough away from Lodo that you don't have to have that "Dressed for a hook up" look. This is a bar, with great beer, good food and if you speak nicely to the bartender, she may give you a small taste of Stranahan's, the only whiskey made in Colorado. BTW, the whiskey is made next door. Pull up a barstool, order yourself an "Old Scratch", have a snifter of Stranahan's, some nachos, lively conversation and you'll know what this neighborhood bar is all about.

Pros: Freshest Flying Dog around

This is one of my favorite places to go. I love the food and the service has always been great. The croud is usually fun and the restroom has more than one stall! They have drink specials, a pool table and a dart board.

Pros: Food, service and atmosphere

Cons: parking can be a challenge

The beer alone is enough to keep the most discerning palate in his seat, but the draw of the Blake Street Tavern only begins with Flying Dog brews; the Blake offers the only plate of nachos where the chips will be gone before the toppings every time. What's more the buffalo wings are consistently cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. If you're looking for something more substantive, you can always expect a very tasty cup of spicy chicken chipotle soup, a pretty good burger or club sandwich, prime rib cooked to order, or a filling Chicago-style dog. The real draw with the Blake Street Tavern, though, is the atmosphere; large plasma screens and all the sports packages to watch your favorite team, separate rooms to host a party, trivia night, booze tastings, shuffle board, pool, whatever your fancy, and it's all highlighted by a staff that never stops smiling, laughing, and joking.

Pros: Beer selection and quality; nachos and wings; service; atmosphere; proximity to Coors Field

Cons: Game day crowds

They have a pretty good menu and a very good happy hour. The food is very good and a decent price. Our service has been mixed, our first trip was very bad but the last time we were there is was very good.

Editor's Review

Classy and relatively refined, this tavern shines like a diamond among rough sports bars.  See the full editorial review.

Save Money

If you bring the tykes, ask for the kids menu. They can opt for grilled cheese, chicken tenders or mac and cheese; a soft drink and ice cream are part of the deal.
