WORST SERVICE EVER!

by shakeone at Citysearch

I would never bad mouth a local small business but I have to make an exeption in this case! There is an older bald hispanic looking gentleman whom i believe is the manager. He was the very rude and very ignorant. He made a very ignorant remark regarding my ethnicity which i wont get into details about. And the lady who works the front over charged me and rolled her eyes when i asked her if she could explain the charges. Im not sure of the employees names but i do know that they work there on Monday nights.

I think that the only people that go there are the regulars and friends of the staff. They are not at all interested in making it a fun environment . The place it self has good prices but it is not worth the trouble.

I hope that the bald man that works on Monday nights get fired!

  • Pros: good prices
  • Cons: horrible service

Worst customer service ever!

by cubacuba at Citysearch

I used to love hanging out at elitch lanes. The staff used to be nice, and you sure can't beat dollar beers. But lately the rude treatment from the staff makes even the cheap beer is not at all worth the hassle! The woman at the front has such an attitude and has repeatedly overcharged me. When I asked why my bill was so high I got yelled at! On top of it, some other employee came over and helped her yell at me!! Never going back again.

  • Pros: cheap beer
  • Cons: rude staff, wait for an hour for your cheap beer

We are sorry you didn't have a good experience. If you really feel you were overcharged, please call or come in during the day, Monday through Saturday and speak to Cal about it.

Love it!

by nakooky at Citysearch

This place rocks. I love the good loud music and the dark atmosphere they've got going most of the time. One poster said it needs updating?! Have you seen what it looked like 5 or 6 years ago?! Almost everything about the place has been redone. For one of the older places, it's pretty cool and retro and unlike any bowling alley I've ever been in before. I think it's a great addition to the Berkeley/Highland area. They have an extensive bar menu--even wine. The burgers and fries are great too. And I'm not a smoker , but the patio they created when public places went non-smoking is awesome.

Great Bowling!

by johnjackson99 at Citysearch

This place is great! Elitch Lanes is a neighborhood friendly bowling alley where you can go with friends and roll a few games, drink some cool beers (9 or ten bucks for domo draft pitchers, a fair price), eat some bowling alley food and have a good time. The staff is friendly, for sure. They also take reservations and that is a wise choice as many nights there is league play.

  • Pros: Atmospher, value, parking
  • Cons: nada

Bad Customer Service (Watch Your Stuff)

by MrBull at Citysearch

Elitch Lanes is located on the corner of 38th and Tennyson in the Highlands neighbor hood. It?s an outdated venue that is dirty and a little shady. The pitchers were 14.00 a piece and customer service leaves much to be desired.

Me and a group of 15 people went there to celebrate my wife?s birthday party. Start off we paid $180 dollars for 4 games for 10 people. During the first game we caught a kid trying to pick pocket one of our friends jackets. So make sure to pile all of your stuff into one pile and don't leave it exposed.

After playing 2 games with 10 people we decided to leave. After a very brief conversation with the attendant she would not refund our 2 games we did not play. She instead gave us vouchers to play there again. After counting them she had shorted us two games. When I confronted her about the error she got snotty with me thinking that I had somehow pocketed them.

All we wanted was our money back.

On the plus side there were some other really nice kids there that helped teach some of our inexperienced bowlers some tricks they used for league bowling.

  • Pros: In the Highlands
  • Cons: Bad Customer Service, Shady Costomers, Buildings needs to be updated

I always have a really good time here. It's got the atmosphere of a fun bar and just happens to be a bowling alley too. Plus, the blonde that works the bar on Wednesday nights is smokin HOT!!!

  • Pros: Dollar bowling and beers on Wednesday nites
  • Cons: None
