We went to this restaurant for the first time on Mother's day and were greeted with fresh baked bread that was out of this world and simple, clean, flavorful Italian food. Even now that I am gluten intolerant and can't eat wheat, I can still find some entrees and desserts to enjoy!

The flies on the windowsill and the fake plants didn't do much for my first impression but a friend had recommended it so we sat down and ordered. The pasta special ($6.95) seemed like a great deal but it wasn't any better than boiled pasta and Ragu that you could make at home. My husband had gnocchi ($10.95) which was rubbery and overcooked. A Fat Tire beer was $5. The desserts were OK, but overpriced as well. I thought the cheesecake looked better than it tasted and regretted the calories (and cost) immediately. On a positive note, the service was good and the bread was warm but we definitely wouldn't go back again.

This joint is by no means authentic. To call the food second rate Italian would be complimenting it. It's more like those leftovers that have been hiding out in the back of your fridge for the last two months. This place was really good when it opened six years ago, but since has gone down hill. I know that the Italiant man that used to own it no longer does, and has been replaced by some American hothead that thinks his stuff doesn't stink (even though his food does). The bread and bakery were second to none back in the day, but now it is last on my long list of "no thank you" restaurants.

If this is authentic Italy then my name is Aunt Jemima. The food is over priced and nasty, the portions are small and the staff less than helpful. The walk-around crooner is annoying..he actually carried his tip jar around with him! Tacky! They have no kids menu, the booths are completely falling apart and everything is dirty. I'd rather eat at 7-11.

  • Pros: Sorry, there aren't any
  • Cons: Dirty, over priced

Having grown up in this area...ive seen this place in many fashions. As Wheat ridge dairy it was awesome for its ice cream and milk. Loved going up there all the time...walking distance you know. Now as Vincenza's bakery it is past awesome. the food catches your sences the moment you walk in. the aroma of the fresh bread...the sight of the desserts makes you know you will add 20 pds. (ok exaggerated). then whenyou get the food....Fabulous. The atmosphere and service is the peak of performance. I love it...yes as a Wheat Ridge son Im proud of it. Love it.

  • Pros: food, service, friendliness
  • Cons: dont ship

I can't add much to the reviews here - it's all true and it's all great food. I wish, occasionally, the rear section of the restaurant had a cozier atmosphere, but it's not a deal breaker. Last year, we bought one of their ricotta pies to have with our Christmas dinner - this is so fabulous! I served it with a simple blueberry sauce. They have many other holiday pies to choose from.

  • Pros: Food, hospitality

When you go into Vincenzan early in the day, you are immediately greeted with the wonderful aroma of fresh marzipan cookies. There are also fresh cookies with raspberry, blueberry or apricot filling, fresh breads and many more. Marzipan's my fav!

Last night, we were there to celebrate our aunt's birthday and I ordered the house specialty - MARE MUNDI, yummmmm! It had veal, lobster, shrimp, mussels and calamari in a spicy marinara sauce over linguine. OOoooo.. I can't believe I ate it all! And many pieces of their awesome fresh baked bread too! To top it off, they baked the birthday cake - it was chocolate with raspberry filling and the cream colored icing was also raspberry flavored; it was like eating a piece of "heaven" - light, fluffy, creamy, rich in flavor. Vincenzan is always a stop for us during our yearly Denver "pilgrimage" from Gulf Shores, AL.

  • Pros: Authentic, Fresh Breads, Casual Dining
  • Cons: Ambience, Too far from AL

I think this is some of the best Italian food in denver, no, this side of New York. We had the Linguine Pescatore and was the best I had, lots of Seafood, Crushed Tomato and Spices. The chef came out and talked to me about the dish and his cooking it while in Italy. He also recommended a nice Italian wine to go with our dish. We finished with a slice of Tirimisu and a scoop of inhouse made gelato. What an experience. We will definetely be coming back...soon!

  • Pros: Friendly, Great Food, Gelato

Form the front counter filled with fresh breads and pastries to the authentic dinner menu this visit reminded me of my visits to Italy. The wine list had a wide selection of Italian wines to compliment my dinner and we all got to listen to a Frank Sinatra tribute by Frank Lechuga. What a great experience!

  • Pros: live music, real cannolis, lunch buffet
  • Cons: i dont live closer
