My husband and I went to Capital Grille for our anniversary and it was a great experience. Every staff member we talked to wished us a happy anniversary. We requested a booth when making the reservation and not only did they give us a booth, they covered the table with rose petals and gave us an anniversary card! The service was phenominal and the food was excellent. To top it all off, we were given THREE complementary desserts as an anniversary gift! They gave us a huge platter with three of their best desserts and didn't charge us at all for them. There were even candles on each of the desserts. They definately went above and beyond our expectations and helped make our anniversary memorable.
Pros: the best service in town
Cons: high prices, but it was worth it!

Excellent Food, Excellent Wine and Excellent Service. A bit pricey, and the ambiance is loud and not romantic.

we went recently to celebrate a birthday and were completely underwhelmed. citysearch needs to update their reviews.several years ago my review would have been different. it seems that alot has changed at the capital grille. the food was cold, the service was slow and inattentive and overall our experience sub par. the dining room was very loud and there seemed to be a lot of very drunk patrons there. i don't mind paying for a really great dining experience but this one was dismal and way overpriced.

My wife and daughter and I were in town and went to the Capital Grille despite some of the negative reviews on this site. From the minute we walked in we were greeted warmly and treated by the staff as if they cared about us despite knowing that we would probably never be back. Our server, Michelle, gave us excellent recommendations for both our steaks and our wine (a superb Syrah) and we were so pleased with them. The service was just right... not too fast to be pushy but not so slow we forgot what we ordered. Michelle was back numerous times to make sure we were happy and our wine was poured. She asked us about our family and seemed genuinely interested. As for the food, I had the Porcini Rubbed Delmonico with 8-Year Aged Balsamic (so unique and full in it’s taste), my wife had the Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms (absolutely able-to-cut-with-a-fork tender), and my daughter the Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Caramelized Shallot Butter (from the sample she gave me even better than my steak.) My “Wedge” lettuce salad with Bleu Cheese and Crumbled Bacon was fresh as if it came from the garden and the dressing was so delicious I ate every dribble. The entire night was beyond our expectations. Comparing it to another famous steakhouse we had gone to our first night in town revealed the Capital to be the winner in all categories. Expensive... yes, but well worth it. It will be an experience we will remember for quite awhile and, if ever again in Denver, we will certainly be back.
Pros: Great food, Wonderful Staff, Food served at nice pace, Great Wine
Cons: Price, A Little Crowded

At one time, Capital Grille was a great place to go for a special occasion. Unfortunately, our most recent visit will be our last visit. Food was subpar, service was pretentious, and the overall experience was a huge disappointment. For a restaurant to command such high prices, they should be ready to deliver impeccable food and service, not just rely on their reputation.
Pros: Host staff

I have never the steaks at the upscale steak houses were any better than you could make on your grill. You hear me Ruth’s Chris, adding butter doesn't make your steak that much better. But the Capital Grille charged my mind. The steak was cooked to perfection (assuming you know what medium rare really looks like) and so very tender. Likewise our steak tartare appetizer was just as favorable, well seasoned yet not so much as to hide the true flavor of the beef. In addition to the terrific steaks, the service is the best I have ever encountered. No attitude from the staff-just smiles and an "aim to please" attitude. When you make reservations, they will ask you if it is a special occasion. If so, your table will be decorated accordingly. In addition to a hand written anniversary card at the table when we arrived, our waiter sent us a thank you card a few days latter. This was also hand written and even made a joke relating to our conversation that evening. I have nothing bad to say-although it is pricy, but well worth it.

We had a family dinner at this restaurant and were impressed by the staff and their willingness to go above and beyond to make our evening un-forgettable. When we realized we forgot a camera, one of the stuff members ran out to get us a disposable camera. Our food was superb.
Pros: Great food, outstanding service
Cons: Downtown Parking (I just need to put something here, right?)

I have now eaten here a few times and the food has been amazing. The service has been a little up and down but still pretty good even when it was not so good. Everything was explained well and all the food came as it was supposed to be prepared. We have always made reservations and have been promptly seated which is a plus. I would recommend this place to anyone as a definite destination for a top quality steak in the Denver area.
Pros: Top quality ingredients
Cons: Can be noisy

We have lived in Denver for a year and have read about the Capital Grille and their aged steaks. We had some friends in from Tucson and they wanted a greak steak before the Avalanche game. We were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess, seated immediately as there were only two patrons in the entire restaurant and they were sitting at the bar. Cutting to the chase, the service was poor, the steaks were not cooked to our specifications and were sent back to be re-cooked. Once they were brought back the second time....they were dry and could not be eaten. Did I mention we were there forever......and a day? Our friends left disappointed and hungry. Thank goodness for the many options for food at the Av's game.
Pros: Beautiful restaurant
Cons: High priced...low steak quailty

I went with my mother-in-law for lunch and we were treated like royalty. They changed our table linens from white to black (as I was wearing a black outfit). Service was prefessional, attentive and prompt. The food was amazing and well worth the price tag (lunch for 2 with soups and dessert was $120). Will definitely return again and again.
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
