A response to a review and a word of caution to credit card customers
by srm70
This review is a response to the review posted about the "shady waitress."
I am the manager at DDS and was contacted by the husband of the young lady who had a tip posted to her credit card without her permission. I researched their complaint and found that there had been no tip posted to their account by our waitress or our establishment. When I called back to confirm this with the couple, they acknowledged that, indeed, there was no charge to their card other than the charge that was authorized by the cardholder. They then apologized for the accusation.
Unfortunately, most credit card processing companies will "hold open" or "ping" a debit card, and sometimes a credit card, to make sure there are sufficient funds in the account to hold open a tab at a bar.
This "credit check" has nothing to do with the establishment and seems to be a universal practice among credit card processing companies.
Usually, this amount is $50, but it can vary. This is not a charge, but if one were to go home straight after visiting an establishment and check their account online or by phone, they would see a
'pending" charge. Often, this charge will "disappear" after a day or so. If it does not, then you should contact the establishment where the charge was processed and the bank that issued your card.
It is unfortunate that this patron's review was posted before we at DDS could research and remedy her situation. I hope that they will return in the future and have a more satisfying experience.
Good place but the waitress is shady
by coloradocitygal
My husband and I went to Double Daughters for a bite to eat and drinks. We enjoyed the pizza as always, and the DJ was pretty good too. We didn't stay long as we were moving on for the evening for dancing, paid with a credit card and left a tip in cash. Unfortunately, when we got home, we found out that our waitress had added her own tip to our bill. It was only the two of us, so there's no way it could have been an automatic group charge. Be careful with your waitress!!!
Best palce in town
by AngelaKitten
not only is the staff amazing but the drinks are impeccable and the pizza is to die for. when you go you walk through two huge gold doors and come to place like Alice in wonderland. its got dim lighting that accentuates the red bar stools and tear drop like booths. behind the bar is a concoction that looks bl00d red they call it the house drink and it comes out of a space age type cylinder. but be weary when ordering this drink they only allow two per person. when your there be sure to say hey to Spencer you cant miss him he's the tall lanky blond mo-hawked manager who is l-a-1-d back and very impeccably dressed. out of all the bars on Lodo I'd say this is the best because they don't expect you to be anything more then who you came in as. as one of the best regulars i suggest you go check it out you might be surprised how amazing this place is and while your there have a teddy bear 0-r-g-y or a six toed kitten two really great martinis.
- Pros: Great service, amazing atmosphere, and awesome decor
- Cons: the yuppie crowd who comes in after specials

Mediocre bar.
by sleev
The atmosphere at this bar is great. Unfortunately while my girlfriend and I were enjoying martinis there, a "patron" attempted to pick her pocket. Additionally their admittance policies are terrible. Two separate times my friends and I were denied entrance because we had temporary drivers licenses with us. I am well over 21. The management of this establishment needs to get their act together or their bar will suffer the same short lifespan of so many businesses in LoDo.
Fantastic

I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else in Denver. The staff is great, it's filled with interesting people, and you can always get the best pizza in Denver from Two Fisted. Definitely a jem among the usual LoDo clubs.
- Pros: atmosphere, staff, drinks, food, everything!
- Cons: in LoDo...?
A gothic-inspired martini lounge in LoDo where revelers drink concoctions, not cocktails.

In Short
The wrought-iron and black-draped backdrop around the perimeter of the bar highlights a collection of blood-red, drop-shaped booths as eerily glowing doves flit about overhead. Named for the conjoined twin daughters of carnie and entomologist Mario Guccio, the bar stands out among LoDo's dance clubs and sports bars by featuring local art and, DJs spinning trance and new wave and macabre cocktails like the Rabid Monkey and Severed Goat's Head.

GREAT ambiance and drink menus, and Two-Fisted Mario's next door is delish (if only they delivered!)
An absolute must for all your out-of -town guests.
- Pros: Ambiance and staff has personality plus
- Cons: Parking can be bad on weekend nights
