fully enjoyed my experience.
by andrealyle
I called and scheduled a same day appointment for their signature facial and swedish massage. On their website they have an ad that offers 10% off same day appts. but I didn't recieve mine and didn't realize it until I got home. However, I was late for my appt. so maybe the discount doesn't apply in that situation. That being said, the massage was one of the best I have ever experienced. My therapist Holly was very knowledgable and attentive. I can't say enough good things about her. My facial was so relaxing that I think I actually fell asleep for a little while. I do regret not being able to enjoy their quiet room for a little longer and I'm bummed that I didn't recieve my complimentary glass of wine but again, thats due to my tardiness and not to lack of customer service. The front desk was actually very nice and accomodating and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all for being late. I fully enjoyed my experience and would definately recommend this spa to anyone who's looking to relax.
- Pros: best massage ever!
- Cons: no parking, didn't get my discount :(
Bad gift-giving experience- pea in the pod massage
by Jaimsies
I had a massage at the Woodhouse about a year ago and really enjoyed it.
When it was time to buy a gift for a pregnant friend, I decided to stretch my budget to get her a gift certificate for the pea-in-the-pod massage at the Woodhouse, thinking it would be nothing short of excellent and relaxing.
After my friend had the massage, she told me about her experience:
She had to ask for a clean pillow because the one they gave her had some yellow gunk on it.
They didn't have pregnancy beds with the hole in the middle! Her massage took place while she was laying on her sides- how is that comfortable? How is that going to help my very pregnant friend relax and get a good back rub?
I have never heard of a prenatal massage with no belly table, and neither had my friend. She had even gone to some other less expensive places throughout her pregnancy and ALWAYS had a belly table.
I called and spoke with the spa manager, who's attitude was pretty much "tough, it's the way we do it here." I won't be spending more money at the Woodhouse. I would think in this economy spas would be trying to keep their customers, but I guess the Woodhouse doesn't see it that way.
- Pros: pretty building
- Cons: bad prenatal massage, customer service, overpriced
Best spa in Denver
by allyko
Hands down the best spa in Denver. Atmosphere, service, robes, locker rooms, drinks, massages and facials - all top notch. (I'm not a nail girl, so unable to comment in that dept) You will not go wrong if you book for yourself, take friends, or present as a gift. In the past year I've been fortunate enough to visit many spas, and in my opinion, The Woodhouse Denver is superior to The Bellagio Spa in Vegas, resort spas in AZ, the new Ritz Carlton spa downtown, and many others around town. They do it right, start to finish - in a beautiful and charming atmosphere. The only slight "issue" I would note is that parking can be scarce, best to go a bit early to find a spot in the surrounding neighborhood.
- Pros: ambience, excellent services
- Cons: go early to find parking
Beautiful Spa, Great Experience
by pnc227
A friend of mine recently bought me a gift certificate to the Woodhouse for my birthday. When I called the spa, the woman I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helped me pick the appropriate massage based on what I told her was happening with my body. When I arrived the day of my appointment, I was impressed from the beginning. Beautiful old home, relaxing atmosphere, and a staff that made me feel welcome. Before my massage began, my therapist reviewed my chart and took the time to talk with me about my body "issues". It was one of the best massages I've had. Amanda was very knowledgeable and had a confident and nurturing touch. I will be back but next time I'm bringing friends! A great birthday gift!
- Pros: Beautiful Spa, Great Value, Skilled Technician
- Cons: Not very much parking available
Lovely Pea in the Pod Massage
by DenverLK
I recently used a gift certificate for a Pea in the Pod maternity massage. I was expecting a special table or chair to be available, but it was just done on a regular massage table where the masseuse worked on one side of me at a time, while I lay on my sides with a body pillow. Obviously, it's not quite as relaxing as a regular massage, where you can be on your stomach, but overall it was very pleasant and relaxing. At the end, I was on my back for a few minutes, which might not be okay for all pregnant women. The masseuse took time to make sure I was comfortable throughout.
A small complaint: the gift certificate didn't note a time allowance for the massage. When I booked it and noted I had a gift certificate, the receptionist asked if it was for an hour, which I assumed was standard. However, when I checked out, it turned out the gift was made for 45-minutes (the standard time offered on the website, as I later learned). It wasn't a big deal to pay a little extra, but it seems like there should be a better line of communication between what a gift certificate says, what the website offers, and how the service is booked.
- Pros: Great Pea in the Pod massage; relaxing atmosphere
- Cons: Gift certificates not clear; only two showers in locker room
Good facial

A lovely, relaxing space - beautiful building, great lounging areas.
I've had several wonderful facials at Woodhouse.
I recently was unhappy with attitude at the register - hopefully it was just a one time incident.
- Pros: wonder space, talented staff
Wow, That's what I call a great experience
by martinibliss
This place was unbelievable. These guys have obviously figured out how to make someone feel special and relaxed. For the entire day I felt like I was the only person that mattered. Each individual I delt with catered to my every whelm. My pedicure and manicure were done in a great setting. My techician was very skilled and made me feel like a queen. Don't miss the opportunity to get one of their body wraps. I'm telling all my friends..Actually, this would be a great place to go with them! Plus they have some great wines to sip. See you there!
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: Hmmm..can't think of any
Wonderful Massage and overall experience
by 1director
I absolutely loved this small spa. We walked in and were whisked away from there. I thought the massage was one of my top five ever (I think her name was Kim) and overall the experience was lovely. The changing/dressing room, though small, was well equipped. Great shop too as they had an abundance of nice products.

Worst nail service
by Soretoesandfingers
I have enjoyed many massages at the Woodhouse. But, I have to say that everytime I have nail services performed, the experience is poor. The last two times I have visited, the nail tech burnt the tips of my fingers and toes with the nail file. When I brought it to her attention, she offered me a free drink and then poured nail polish remover on it. Which really burns! I mentioned it to the hostess checking me out and got 20% off my bill. I will return the favor and never return.
- Pros: Great massages
- Cons: Changing rooms and nail service
