Wonder why it went out of business

by Hllon1

Was it the poor customer service? They had good unique gifts. Are they opening somewhere else? But the customer service from the owner was very poor.

  • Pros: Neighborhood

Unique But Unpredictable

by SojaRinn

My first experience at the red door was pretty enjoyable. I found some unique gifts and had fun taking in the fun decor. The owner was a little scatter brained I.E. running after me in the street 15 minutes after I had been in, because she forgot to give me an item I purchased in my bag. But over all our conversation was pleasant.

Upon my second visit I noticed the 'moving sale' sign and enquired where she was moving. There was no definite answer and when I questioned her about the foot traffic in the area for all the local business owners I suddenly got a rude and blunt response that made me feel so awkward and uncomfortable.

Though I like the store and I think that sometimes creativity comes with quarks, this store lacks consistency and a true professionalism. The items in the boutique I can find other places and I most likely wont go back in.

You have options when you shop and being at ease and having a good experience is worth more to me.

Also based on the high tension in the store, my best guess is that there is not a moving so much as a pending going out of business.

Has to make you wonder if one to many people had an awkward experience.

  • Pros: Unique finds and Good Ideas
  • Cons: Inconsistant and border line rude customer service

Best jewelry, best knick-knacks

by catpartyletsgo

Citysearch crowned Red Door Swingin with 'best offbeat store' in 2006, and it was much deserved! They carry some of the best accessories in town, including my favorite indie jewelry line Love Las Muertas, Umbra and Chilewich! A must see if shopping in Denver.

  • Pros: great atmosphere, nice workers, funky merchandise
  • Cons: kinda hard to find...

Great little shop with local flavor

by loungegrl

Not sure what other reviewer is talking about. This is a fantastic store with unique items, some of which are handmade by local Denver artisans. The owner, yes, is eccentric, but definitely not someone that would try to make customers feel uncomfortable. She's usually creating her own handicrafts in the backroom when you come in to the store, so she may not run out right away and greet you. Personally I find that kind of attention annoying anyway. Lots of great bags, hats, handmade jewelry, vintage furniture and cool artwork. Her hanging pendants lamps are fantastic. One word of warning: she has an older dog that for some reason barks at you if you step over it or cross in front of him. But he's otherwise harmless.

This is a great local store - don't let the previous reviewer's snide attitude sway you.

  • Pros: Good by local artisans, fun accessories and housewares, nice location
  • Cons: Grouchy dog

Worst Customer Service Ever

The owner make you feel so uncomfortable, she is crazy with no customer service skills whatsoever. They have some cute things but mostly junk. I would never shop there again or recomend it to anyone
