Favorite bar in Denver!
by nr298401
I love Scruffy Murphy's. I didn't even know about it until I did the Pub Crawl for Cancer in Denver, and it was one of the stops on our crawl. They have a great patio when it's warm outside, and there's plenty of room inside. It has the feel of an authentic Irish pub, and the people are all very friendly. I go there almost every weekend. I definitely recommend it.
- Pros: friendly staff and patrons, great atmosphere

I enjoyed myself but we could have had betters serveces. It was a bit cold, but nice this time so we don't have to smell the smoke. My Girlfriend cannot stand the smoke, but I would recomend this place to my friends and I am sure we will go again.
Best Staff in Denver
by BTISOX
This gem is the best kept secret in LoDo (Balpark neighborhood). Authentic Irish atmosphere along with a little something for everyone. Craig is the best bartender behind the wood. Always someone you know. Best service and personality in Denver.
- Pros: Pints, Food, and Staff
- Cons: None
Best Irish Pub in Denver- And I've done the tour, folks
by olfid
I play fiddle in an irish band. Granted, Scruffy's is our house, and I'm a little biased, but in all honesty, by comparison to the public houses I've visited in my travels in Ireland, Scruffy's is the most authentic. Their beer chilling and storage system is far superior to any other I've seen in Colorado, their Guiness prices beat all the other locals, and they have a damn fine price on a shot of Red Breast. As far as the service being poor I can't say I disagree some nights, but there's no way you can discredit their excellent bar staff. Scruffy's is authentic, fun, well priced, and they also feature two of Colorado's finest Irish bands at least once or twice a month. Also, on a side note...we don't drink Killian's or Newcastle at Scruffy's...we drink IRISH beer at IRISH pubs...
- Pros: Great friendly staff and music
- Cons: Limited parking- who cares, it's the ballpark neighborhood...

Bad Service.

Bad news here folks. Ordered food, never received it. Lazy bartenders. Small bathrooms. Go to the Celtic instead.
good crowd
by pokerplayer1234
I came here on a Saturday night after dinner. The place was pretty empty, but as the night progressed, it drew a reasonably large crowd. I came with friends who raved about this place, but I wasn't impressed with the customer service. Our waitress asked if we could close out our tab after the first round of drinks--we thought it was because she was off for the night, but no. And then we proceeded to not get another waitress for at least the next 30 minutes. The other waitress never came by our table because she still thought the previous waitress was taking care of us. After that issue got worked out, the new waitress was a complete sweetheart, although obviously inexperienced. All in all, I wasn't impressed with this place, although apparently my experience was an anomoly.
- Pros: great crowd
- Cons: service was below par
Friendliest Staff in Denver
by dlinc82
I came to Scruffy's one night after a friend recommended I check it out - I am really glad I did. It has a very cozy atmosphere, and the staff was some of the friendliest I've encountered since moving here two years ago. They have good pub food, and a great selection of draught beer. Eeven on a busy night, I always have a full pint. All in all, a great place to be!
- Pros: Great staff, great beer
You might see some Irish dancing..
by hmks
We love this place. Despite the fact that it gets unbelievably crowded on a weekend night - this is the place to take a group and just hang out, chat and drink. We took some friends there and we all had a blast. They have a great beer list - Strongbow Cider on tap. If you can score a table, you're one of the lucky one's - but standing is still fun(with a drink in hand) - and despite the crowd, service is really awesome, so you will always have that drink in hand. Lastly, the last night we dropped in there was a bachelorette party irish dancing! It was so much fun! Everyone is really friendly at this style of bar - it's a happy place to be!
- Pros: pubs are cool!
- Cons: nothing!
A fine place for a pint
by adipaw
Scruffy's may be my favorite pub in Denver to have a nice pint. If it's live music or throwing down with a little trivia, we always have a good time.
