User Reviews for Virgilio's Pizzeria Napoletana

the pizza is ok, but they treated me like i was bothering them when i got there. they don't seem to care how your meal was or if you need anything. no smiles, no courtesy just blank looks. i guess its ok if you don't need a nice waitress, but i believe the reason they have this here is because they hire family and don't really put too much into screening employees who are professionals in customer service. i did not like this so i wont go back.

I am the owner of Virgilio’s Pizzeria and yes my name is Virgilio. This message is addressed to the individual who has written 20 different reviews under different aliases in the past month. You should be ashamed of yourself. This pathetic attempt to try to slander me personally, or my fabulously cheesy pizza is as see-through as your sub-standard pepperoni! I know it hurts to see me in the paper and magazines over and over and over, basking in the gloriousness of my marinara, but that is what hard work and great quality produces! If you think writing reviews that say such ridiculous falsehoods such as “don’t believe the hype”, “greasy”, “expensive” will hurt my business you are out of luck! Business is better than ever as you already know, with lines out the door daily. May I suggest that you spend time at your restaurant, not mine, trying to make a better product, instead of writing bogus reviews, maybe we would see you in the paper winning my awards? Seriously four out of five stars for a pizza joint? This is not fine dining. I would have given this place mid-three. The slices were mediocre.

Our search in Denver for great pizza took many years. I come from the land of mom and pop pizza places that are amazing. When we happened onto Virgilios, we fell in love. First, I could BATHE in the red sauce. Seriously. It's amazing. Everything is great -- love the pizza, love the pasta, LOVE the meatballs. You simply CANNOT go wrong here. We drive from Commerce City for Virgilio's, and we always take sauce home with us. Worth the drive, worth the wait if you have to. Simply WORTH it!

Pros: great great food

Cons: sometimes wait can be long

I too get 5280. I’ve been to Virgilio’s before and was not impressed. Thought we give it another try, becausof the article. Again were we disappointed with our meal. The “premium” sausage made the pizza taste kind of greasy, but there was enough cheese to cover that up. I enjoyed the garlic knots; however, will not return. I’ve read some of the other reviews. I hope johhnnnnnnee2steps doesn’t lash out at this one too. THIS IS ONLY MY OPNION!!!!!

I checked out Virgilio's because of the 5280 review. I have to say I was really dissappointed. I guess it is true when they say, "you can't always believe what you read."

If you missed this month's 5280 magazine. It is the Denver’s best restaurants issue. I wanted to congratulate Virgilio and his hard working staff for being named one of Denver’s top twenty best restaurants under $30.00. There is a beautiful picture of there hot fresh mozzarella which is a must try. Great job, your hard work and superior quality has really paid off. Please don’t leave us we love having you in the neighborhood. I heart Virgilio’s very much. Cindy W

Pros: Fresh Hot Mozz, Clean, HD TV's

We went here on a recommendation. We were told the owner/ manager can be rude , so beware. WOW!! We were disappointed by the overall experience at Virgilio's. We ordered a pepperoni pizza. It was nothing special for the metro area. I would say it’s about the same as Anthony’s, but a little crispier. I’m not sure we met the manager, but saw a guy who looked angry at the world. He asked if everything was ok?. He did this without a fake smile, or a “thanks for coming in.” I really felt he could have cared less. Maybe he was having a bad day. Oh, well I’ll take MY money elsewhere.

I went to King Super's and asked the clerk where i could get some cheap eats. They recommended Virgilio's. It was 12:30 PM the place was mopped. I was not disappointed the pizza was a 10 out of 10.

I have been looking for great NY Pizza for years in Denver- Virgilio's is the place. I met the owner who was very knowledgeable and very "PROUD" of his restaurant. The music and staff was great. I had a great house salad, suasage pizza, and the garlic knotts. Yummy, Yummy. ONLY A REAL ITALIAN UNDERSTANDS HOW TO MAKE A NY STYLE PIZZA. I highly recommend Virgilio's.

Pros: PIZZA KNOTTS, MUSIC, wine
