My fiancee and I have heard great things from friends and family about Ocean. They all say, "You have to try it, you won't regret!". So we did. We arrived at our reservation 6:30PM last Saturday. The place was buzzing with activity - almost all tables were seated. We were escorted to our table on the Upper Deck. I'm gonna cut to the chase - the food was heavenly. From the Raw Bar - "nairagi-toro sashimi" with papaya salsa and truffled mache; "caterpillar roll" with strawberries and an amazing yozu foam. The "signature sizzling yellowtail" with white truffle soy - just melts in your mouth. I had the "miso black cod" - definitely the best yet while my fiancee ordered "kc bone-in striploin steak". You must try the "spicy edamame" and the "seafood dynamite". Ocean is definitely all about the food. The service matches perfectly with the elegance and warm feel in the restaurant. You have to try it, you won't regret indeed!
Pros: Ocean is all about the food

I live and work in the area and have been searching for a complete lunch experience. I finally found what I was looking for. I arrived at Ocean at noon and was greeted by a smile and a warm welcome by the Hostess who immediately escorted me to my table, a window seat with a perfect view of Columbine Street. While seated a couldn't help but notice the beautiful interior and the attention to detail all around the restaurant. My seat is super comfortable, the ambiance was warm and certainly a wonderful space to escape from a hectic day at work. I was greeted with a smile by my Server who suggested a selection of delicious dishes from the menu, which was recently re-engineered by the new Chef. I started with the "ocean's signature crunchy calamari" - it was wonderful - perfectly seasoned - with red jalapenos. I thought a fish dish would be an excellent choice for my entree (they also have great sandwiches, the "kobe beef sliders" - at my next lunch) . I ordered the "pepper seared wild salmon" with yuzu-chiso vegetables. perfectly cooked and still pink in the middle. Gotta have dessert! I had a mint ice cream cone presented on a wooden stand. Pretty cool! Although the restaurant was busy, the Manager still took time to touch my table - that is service indeed! Overall the service was excellent, the food was simple yet the flavors were balanced and memorable - all arrived in a timely manner. I was in and out in an hour. I highly recommend this restaurant. Ocean is now my favorite place for lunch. By the way, you must check out the restrooms - love the video screens and crystal rock pebbles in the sink.
Pros: Outstanding service; fabulous food

My girl and I went to Ocean for our anniversary last night and had an amazing experience. We had heard many things about the food and service and were looking forward to our dinner. She had the miso black cod and I had the colorado trout. The fish literally melted in our mouths. We had read that the portions were small but we didn't find that to be the case at all. Our server also recommended the lobster tacos. They weren't what we had expected but were blown away by how good they were. Our server was very attentive and we felt like they went out of their way to make our evening special. If you are looking for a nice dinner with great service, this is the place to go. Check out the restrooms while you are there!!
Pros: Ambience, Service

I recently moved into the Cherry Creek area. I own my own business and I appreciate independently owned restaurants. I thought the service at Ocean was great, my server seemed to take pride in describing the menu, pointing out that the seafood is flown in fresh daily. I ordered the trout dish and it was delicious. My husband and I also ordered the lobster macaroni and loved it. He ordered the tuna special and it was yum. Drinks were good. I will go back to Ocean, something different in a town of much the same.

I went here on a Saturday evening, started at the bar and had excellent drinks. The staff at the bar was excellent and the staff was attentive. Then for the food...we moved to the restaurant and had decent but tiny appetizers. The main courses were almost inedible. Too salty to eat, undercooked poultry and fish (had to be sent back). Awful flavors apparently attributable to a new chef. 4 adults and 2 kids, $400 TAB, terrible value. Not to mention the pathetic portions - I would have needed two or three meals to fill up, and the fish comes with no sides, just an elf-sized portion of salty fish smeared on a plate for $29 a pop. I have sent back food twice in my life, this was one of the times. God-Awful. I would never recommend this restaurant and would never dare to go back.
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Everything other than the atmosphere...

The busboy actually did the majority of serving my boyfriend and I. We are both major fans of seafood, and this was really not all impressive. No parking available, we had to park in the bank parking lot and were continuously worried about getting towed. Also, the portions are small. We had to pay $10 for a small side of green beans. Overpriced, and unsatisfactory. The servers wear casual attire with holey jeans. If I am paying an average of $40 for a plate, I want to see the servers dressed nicely.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Terrible service

Ocean is located right in the middle of Cherry Creek within a stone's through of the Cherry Cricket (in fact you can see it from the window). The restaurant is calm and inviting, but the service left a lot to be desired. Not particularly attentive or helpful. The food was good, but the prices were way too high for what you got. I realize seafood is not a cheap meal, however Ocean seems to pad their prices to pay for the atmosphere and trendiness of the place - don't fall for it. It is a place to try but not one to ever go back to!

Ate here on restaurant week. Started at the bar. The bartender was very attentive, and I love the atmosphere there. I would definitely go back on a week night again. We had a 7:30 reservation but hoped to get sat early. No way. As we were led to our seats – WAAAAY in the back by the restroom we passed at least 10 empty tables. Set menu started with unagi sushi. Interesting strawberry sauce on top – how strange. Tasty but would have like to have some soy sauce with it. I chose the sea bass as the main entrée. Tiny portions. I can’t say I really needed more food, but for the cost you would have thought maybe a side dish. Taste was excellent. Husband of my dining partner got the pork which he said had an excellent taste. Desert was some rather large cookies dipped in chocolate. Not fresh from the oven, but a nice way to end the meal. All in all it was a nice dining experience but not sure I would go back for anything but the bar. I have to agree with other reviewers when they indicate it is over prices and over trendy. But the bathrooms were definitely very fun and cool. Check out the TV's in the stalls!
Pros: attentive waiter, good sea food
Cons: pretentious, no validated parking

I took some business clients there last night and was very disappointing. We started off at the bar and the drinks were very overpriced and bartender was not attentive. At our table our server was good but the food wasn't. Food came out slow, cold, and flavourless. I guess I expectedmore from Cherry Creek restaurants.
Pros: servers
Cons: high priced food and drinks
