I have such a hard time going here without ordering the fried chicken! I consider myself to have a sophisticated palate but the good home cooking here is hard to resist! Just about everything we have ordered here has been outstanding! The fried chicken is to die for, the mac and cheese is just like my grandmother makes, and the biscuits and gravy tops it off. If you are looking for something a little lighter you can order an awesome trout almondine or baked chicken. the atmosphere is a charming retro diner. The building used to be a garage so the entire street front can be opened up during good weather. The little porch outside is a great place to dine on a nice day also. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the steak and that was mainly because it was so thin they couldn't cook it as rare as I like it even after 2 tries. The steak was a daily special and I noticed they had taken it off the menu last time I was there. We have eaten here a half dozen times and every experience has been great! Even when my steak was overcooked they had no objection to bringing me a new one. I have seen a few reviews about the price but we have never found our meal to be expensive. Fantastic restaurant right downtown, give it a try!
Pros: Fantastic food!
Cons: Parking is limited but there are parking lots for a small fee.
