I would not recommend.

by southernluv at Citysearch

Where do I begin? I was referred to Canine Fitness by a cute boutique that apparently knows more about selling food than they do about dog care. My experience was less than impressive. To begin, I checked out the web page and looked at the web cams to find absolutely no one and no dogs anywhere at about 1 in the afternoon. When I toured the facility I found out this is because they are all crated in a basement!

Why would I pay to have this done to my dog?

Then, I noticed the outside was barely shaded hot asphault. There were spots allover that I can only guess was urine. From my view on the web cam I could see someone leaning up against the fence, not really doing anything with the dogs.

The inside wasn't much better. There were flimsy fences inside, a slight musky smell and very unenthusaistic staff leaning against walls looking bored. There was one employee just sitting on some silly looking stairs that lead to no where. I wasn't even sure they were awake.

There were pools, but you have to pay extra to use them and every thing from feeding to giving medication was an upsell.

I come from Atlanta where Royal Paws was my daycare. Perhaps this makes my standards too high, but I have to be honest, I would NEVER leave my dog at this place. My old daycare did not crate dogs, they had a beautiful facility and the people there really seemed like they want to be there. I am very disappointed that I wasted my time looking at this terrible place and I hope I have saved future dog lovers some time as well. If anyone has a GOOD and accurate referral please feel free to contact me here.

Thank you.

NOT A GOOD PLACE TO TAKE YOUR DOG!!

by angelgirl004n at Citysearch

I lived near Canine fitness and fun center and saw the large sign that said indoor pools, swim year round. I was so excited...... until i went and let my two dogs stay for a day. The smell was horrendous. My dogs were shoved, pulled around on a leash, at one time i saw one of the employee's( from what I could tell) kick or smash a dog into one of the flimsy cheap "walls". There was mold growing on the floor near the pools, the ramp for the so called large pool is so cheap that it bent with little weight. I thought it would break anytime on of my medium sized dogs came out of the pool. The owner was stuck up and acted as thought she had tons of knowledge in the field. After hearing her explain to me some medical things about my dog I realized that she had no clue. (my aunt is a vet!) The staff was rude and seemed to not care about me or my dogs at all... until I came to pick them up. There were two girls up front and one was so nice to me and made me wish that she worked somewhere better because then I would have brought my dogs back. Over all my experience was horrible and if you want to check it out they have web cams so you can really see some of what goes on!

Friendly staff but filthy place

by reviewertoday at Citysearch

I was very disappointed with how dirty the place was! The staff was great, so I was surprised that they would not keep the place in better condition. It is very run down.

  • Pros: The staff was great
  • Cons: Everything was very dirty

Do you want your dog muzzled without your knowledge?

by drhms at Citysearch

I would not recommend this daycare for many reasons: 1) staff is very unfriendly (except for the owner); 2) the facility smells; and 3) the biggest reason is that your dog may be muzzled without your knowledge. I dropped my dog off one day for daycare and the staff person asked is she could use a gentle leader on my dog during the day. Why? I asked. Instead of a muzzle. What? Have you muzzled my dog? Why? Come to find out that my dog had indeed been muzzled for barking on several occassions for which I had no idea - nobody bothered to let me know. I'm not against discipline, but I'm not paying over $20/day for my dog to be muzzled. Doggie daycare is a place for dogs to have fun, run, play, and bark. With multiple playrooms, I see no reason why my dog could not have been placed in another room. Be aware!

My dog loves it here

by survivorluvr55 at Citysearch

I brought in my dog for a temperament test after touring the facilities the day before. I read many reviews on here saying how unclean the place was, but it was quite evident that this was not true. I could smell bleach in the place. My dog did well on her temperament test and I brought her the next day. She seemed very content and happy when they brought her out to the lobby. She had never been to daycare before, so I was worried she would be traumatized. She certainly wasn't though! I would like to try and see if she will swim sometime, she never had before. This place has two indoor swimming pools which I believe no other place does in Colorado. I would highly recommend trying out this place.

  • Pros: Clean, four play areas, two pools
  • Cons: Outside was a bit small

One of my better experiences in daycare :)

by suepolk3 at Citysearch

I have a little dog who is fairly shy. I have lived in the area for awhile but hadn't heard about this place until they had a charity dog wash a few weeks ago. There was a little blirp about in on Fox 31 news, so I decided to try with my dog there. My dog passed the temperament test well despite the fact that she is very shy. I felt content with leaving her here and she seems to have been doing fine so far. I was afraid on the first day that she might come home shaking in fear as she did after a day at another daycare...but she seemed very content. I was told that she did not play very much with other dogs during her day their, but that she did play with the humans a little bit. Hopefully with time she will warm up to other dogs more.

  • Pros: Good press, patient staff
  • Cons: not open on Sundays

Saw it on 9 news

by christinezu at Citysearch

I came here just earlier this week after seeing a story about it on 9 news. I really liked it. My dog is overweight and could use this place. I do walk her and all, but the swimming and running about here may be more than anything that I can do. They have some good deals, like 2 hour power plays for $10. The owners have also gone through some extensive kennel training, as you can see with the plaques on the wall upon entrance. Most places I have gone before, they never have had prior kenneling experience, so this is nice for a change. It looks like a really fun place, I especially like the play equipment downstairs.

  • Pros: nice place for my chubby dog, swims, play yards...

Cool place

by kmcaulligh at Citysearch

I like that the dogs rotate floors here, and do not just stand in the same area the entire time. They have toys and kiddie pools and other things to play with. It seemed like a really fun place for the dogs to be, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. My dog is not a swimmer, but they do have indoor pools for other dogs who are which is nice. A very fun place, good daycare.

  • Pros: toys, pools, play equipment

The Private swims and daycare are great!

by trishai at Citysearch

I initially brought my dog in for private swims here not too long ago. She has swum before, but seemed nervous at first. The lady doing the swim was great though and even got in the pool with her! She was doing so much better by the end of the session, and it was so much fun to watch. I had heard negative things about this place before, but I can not see anything that people were complaining about. The people were nice and the facilities seemed very clean. I decided to drop my dog off for daycare last week. She got a good report card back, and was very tired when we got home...which I like. This place is awesome, not enough good things to say about it.

So far, so good

by mhelman4 at Citysearch

I have not been coming here for too long. I used to take my dog to Camp Bow Wow in Aurora, but a move made Canine fitness more convienent. There are some things I like better about this place. For instance they have toys and things for the dogs to do here. They do get crated for two hours during the day. Which is ok I guess since they were crated for four hours a day at CBW. They are open longer too which is nice. I like the play yards that they have and that they rotate them. It is much better than them just sitting around in the same area the entire time. I would recommend this place.

  • Pros: good hours, activities for dogs

Highly recommended for swimming

by douga24 at Citysearch

I have not ever taken my dog for daycare here, so I can not comment on that. I used to take my dog to Alameda East for therapeutic swims, but I decided to try here to save some money. You can take a dog here for half the cost of one time at Alameda. They do not perform therapy here I should say, so if your dog needs physical therapy stay at Alameda East. I just like to have my dog swim to help with her hip dysplacia. I bring her here for private swims once a week. The people who do her swims seem nice. My dog does not especially like to swim but it is good for her. I like taking her here to save money from Alameda East. But once again, they do not perform therapy here.

  • Pros: Good costs for swimming
