Don't miss this pizza! Great for a date, or a meal out with the kids!
by shnz821 at Citysearch
I absolutely love this place! My only complaint is that I wish they would open another Oven on the SE side of Denver.
I highly recommend starting your meal with one of their signature salads and a plate of fresh mozzarella. YUM!! I can't pick just one favorite pizza, as I've tried several here and never been disappointed.
If you bring your children, be sure to grab a bar stool by the ovens (so they can watch the pizza being made fresh) and ask for the kids meal. Children are presented with dough that they can sculp into little formations. The dough is later baked, coated with cinnamon sugar and served with a chocolate mousse for dessert.
Best authentic wood fired pizza in town!!
- Pros: Food and Service!!
- Cons: location - wish there was one on the SE side of Denver :(
Great place in Belmar
by JohnnyDanger at Citysearch
My wife and I have made something of a tradition of dinner here before or after catching a movie in Belmar. The Oven really does have what is among the best, if not THE best pizza around Denver. Service is usually relaxed but competent, and they've got a nice wine list. Not sure about the reviews claiming this is expensive. Last time my wife and I were able to each get a personal pizza ,a glass of wine for her and a beer for me at about $25 for the both of us. Overall a great value.
- Pros: Authentic pizza, good wine list
Over Priced and Loud
by kathyoooo at Citysearch
I cant believe I paid $35.00 with tip for a personal pizza, salad and a glass of house wine. The pizza was soggy with no flavor. I will never be back. Plus it was like dining in the school lunch room.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Loud, expensive, soggy
Consistently one of the top pizzas in the Denver area
by writeon1 at Citysearch
There aren't many truly great pizza places in Denver. There are some good ones, but until recently, nothing that really stood out. Now, we have Proto's and The Oven to add to the short list, which also includes Enzo's. The Oven is actually a chain out of Arizona and I usually eschew corporate owned restaurants. This is different, though. For starters, it's not corporate owned. The owner of Phoenix-based Tarbell's restaurant, which is organic, is the brain behind The Oven, which tends to use organic, local ingredients. The pizza is reminiscent of authentic Italian pizzas, but also seems to have something of a funky, California flair, because of the somewhat unusual, organic toppings. It is a small spot, located within a sprawling outdoor mall, but retains all of its indivdual character because of the friendly, quick service and the short, but interesting wine list.
- Pros: Freshness, quality, taste, wine list
- Cons: Family style dining tables
Pizza = Good, Waitress = Bad
by JodySThomas at Citysearch
The pizza was great (and the perfect size), the salad was good, the menu was kind of funny and entertaining, and the place felt very trendy and bustling. Only problem was that the waitress acted very rushed and was clearly annoyed if she had to give us more time to order or to to divy up the check. Unfortunately we left her a huge tip, which she didn't deserve.
- Pros: Food, Atmosphere
- Cons: Service, hard to hear conversation (loud)
YUM.

THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. ALSO ORDER THE BOWL OF MOZZERELLA. THE POOR BOY BREAD IS AMAZING WITH IT. GO YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: NONE THAT I CAN THINK OF.
Westword was not wrong!!!! Best Pizza!
by BillyD105 at Citysearch
A fine gem in Lakewood! We had a wonderful time and the food was out of this world. We were not disappointed. We noticed there was not an overzealous attempt to impress the customer, because food did it. Thanks Westword for the recommendation.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Nada
Cool Pizza in BelMar
by flippinsweet1129 at Citysearch
I went here on a co-workers recommendation and was not disappointed! The special of the day was fabulous! pancetta, carmelized onion and olive oil... simple but delicious! Extensive wines and a fun space - great patio in the summertime. Pricing was way more reasonable than i expected! I am definitely excited to go back soon!
- Pros: great food, great wine, great space
- Cons: could be hard to seat a large party
Expensive small pizza
by pizzafanindenver at Citysearch
This is my take. The pizzas are small and thin with hardly any ingredients. The pizzas they list on the menu are more like cheese breads than real pizza. They don't have popular toppings. It's real real expensive for what you get. The best in pizza is probably Angelo's on East 6th Ave or maybe Wazee Supper Club in Lodo.
- Pros: patio
- Cons: pizza
