There is nothing that stands out more than fresh flavors in a dish. Chesco accomplishes this and more with a fantastic marinara sauce and distinct cheeses. (this concept is also known as fresh ingredients). This is NOT a restuarant that massively produces food so don't expect olive garden. It's quaint, family-owned and will remind you of the italian place you went to when you were a kid. Try it, you may like it! Best for take-out. Monday nights they have italian lessons for $5.00.

I had a meatball sandwich which was full of meatballs on a crunchy fresh bun even though the bottom was soggy. How do you prevent that since it overflowed with a wonderful, probably not jarred, marinara sauce? The best part was an included side of rotini salad full of a variety of roasted peppers. Definitely, not your ordinary sub. This was $5.95.
Pros: worth looking for
Cons: hidden in a safeway strip mall

I've been to Italy several times, several different regions. This is Italy in Denver. The owner/chef knows what he's doing and after visiting with him, turns out he's been doing this for 25+ years. In addition to his menu and daily special (Mangia!!!), Chesco's also has cheeses, meat and other delicacies that are imported. My daughters absolutely love the Dolce Panini; it's like having a dessert for lunch. My favorite? Hard to say; I've been there at least a dozen times and still haven't eaten my way through the menu. Oh, DON'T forget to try the coffee; it's Illy, the best coffee in Italy and it puts Starbucks to shame and at a FRACTION of the cost. Will I keep going back - you betcha, and I have a bunch of friends who have been frequenting Checos's also. I'm mad about this place!
Pros: The food and the interior - feels good to just sit back and relax.
Cons: No wine but heard it could happen soon!!
